In the name of dirt dog poor how did/have you survived?
I'm a poor college student donating plasma to pay for my electricity. Just wondering what odd things you've done/created/come up with during the toughest times of you're life?Jacksonville Jaguars

When I first moved out on my own I remember scraping up change just so I could buy a 64 oz fountain drink to go with my ham or bologna sandwich that I had for lunch every day of the week. Those days when the boss showed up on site and brought us to lunch were awesome!
Tough times for sure, but somehow I always remember having plenty of beer. Odd how that works out.My 2K17 Boston Celtics MyLeague

Re: In the name of dirt dog poor how did/have you survived?
For a 6 month or so stretch when I was 19, I was unemployed and border line homeless. I used a credit card to pay my rent until it was maxed out. I walked 8 miles a day stopping at every open business asking to work for $1 an hour or a meal with no luck. At first, I ate meatless hamburgers (white bread, pickle, mustard and ketchup). Then I was down to eating 1 pack of Ramen noodles every 3 days. (I would break it into pieces before cooking). To drink was only water. I had 2 beers in the fridge but I couldn't bring myself to drink them because then the fridge would have been empty.Comment

Off topic, but:
Went to Panama City Beach for a week on 30$.
Lived on mustard sandwiches & grape jelly in water for the whole week.Comment

Re: In the name of dirt dog poor how did/have you survived?
For a couple years in college I lived with a man who was severely paranoid-schizophrenic because it not only got me an apartment by campus to live in for free, but his mother also paid me a monthly stipend of $200 to basically report to her how things were going. It was actually a pretty sweet deal, I'm quite thankful I happened upon it.
During that time I grocery shopped at the Dollar store, which isn't bad at all.
Really the worst thing about it was resorting to getting two 40s of Steele Reserve when I wanted to drink. I drank more than enough Steele Reserve for my lifetime, unfortunately.Comment

Even at places like the Olive Garden you make around $100 per shift that lasts only 4-5hrs a night. Those jobs its so easy to pick up or give up a shift that you can work whenever you want and basically stop after you make enough for the week.
Serving / Bartending is an excellent way to pick up spare cash while you concentrate on what you want to do. Heck, one guy quit his real job because he found a breakfast buffet at a local premium hotel and makes anywhere from $250-$400 on an average shift working from 7am-12pm pouring orange juice and collecting money.Comment

Don't be a dick head for no reason.
It's extremely hard to find a job that works around some school schedules. I was turned down multiple jobs because they needed me to work whenever I was suppose to be in class.--
Have you ever wanted to coach or play basketball at the next level, but something prevented you from achieving that dream? Fret no more. Ask me about SimWorld Hoops to see how you can create your virtual self, and follow your path from the prep-level to the pros.

If you have no job and no job skills in the field you are in school for, go get a serving job.
