On a more festive note, my indigestion has passed and I got a few hours sleep.

I bought myself the latest iPhone last month so my parents kindly put a little bit of money towards it, since I've been difficult to buy for this year and you can only get a guy so much cider and beer.

The thing I wanted most was some time off work to unwind - anyone else who works in the hospitality industry can tell you how busy the festive period is. Thankfully, January is always quiet, so after working Boxing Day morning I'll have plenty of time to spend with family, watching darts and going to more Bristol City games.

I'm just happy for me and my family's health. I'm happy that I have a roof over our heads, food to eat, and clothes to keep us warm.

I'm happy that my parents still save the same amount of money for Christmas that they did when I was a kid, and thus were able to give my children the Christmas I am unable to afford this year.

It's been the roughest year of my life, and I have been given so many blessings and gifts that I can't put a monetary value on.

That Taco Bell gift card though....I CAN'T FREAKING WAIT.
