I dont know if anyone remembers the Heavens Gate thing that happened in the late 1990s but I know the leaders grandson. I thought that was pretty crazy when he told me.

I just won a crazy game of Madden 25 online and I've had 6 stout Captain and Cokes... no idea how I won, but I did on a bomb to Steve Smith with 25 seconds and no timeouts left.

So last week I had something pretty crazy happen to me.

I think I've probably mentioned her here before but there was a girl who was basically my best friend at work. I fell hard for her and once or twice things almost happened but they never did.

Anyways, last Wednesday was her last night at work. She was going to get a tattoo the next day and asked me if I wanted to come with, so I did. About halfway through the tattoo, her nephew walks in. I'm looking at him like, "I know you from somewhere", but I didn't say anything. He leaves and I ask her, "What did you say his name was?". She tells me and I realize her nephew was my best friend in elementary. What the ****....

Afterwards she pretty much forces me to hang out with them and we catch up a bit. He's doing pretty great for himself and actually going somewhere, which isn't a surprise because she's the same way. What really sucked was when he would ask me about what I'm doing and I really didn't have much to show for it.

Now I'm not one to believe in signs and things like that, but to me this seemed to be a pretty damn clear one, like I need to start getting **** done instead of just wallowing away at work, which is basically what I've been doing for the past 2 and a half years (plus on top of that the year after high school I did absolutely nothing).

Another thing is this girl has been the main reason I've started to look at things from a different perspective and come to the realization I need to start bettering myself. What's weird is there's been these other connections aside from last week. The first few times I went to her house I was having some kind of deja vu like I'd been in that area before and that I've been in houses around hers, and sure enough, she lived down the street from the school I went to from Grade 1-4. Then there was the time I showed her an old picture of me and she said she felt like she had seen it before. Or the time she seen my mom and thought she knew her from somewhere as well.

I know this can be chalked up to just simple coincidences and that there's much wilder situations like this where people are connected without even knowing it, but this is the first time it's happened to me, who doesn't really believe in that sort of thing.

It's corny, I know, but it really does feel like I was supposed to meet her for a reason. Now I just need to start putting in the work towards that reason.
