12k for a wedding? Wouldn't a down payment on a house be more beneficial? A new car? **** is just stupid and I'll never understand it. Not difficult to understand why newlyweds have money issues.

That includes: venue, food, dress/tux, DJ, photographer, flowers, etc. Half of that is from our savings. The other half is being paid by my dad and my grandmother. Her parents are broke. In a perfect world (and by tradition, so I'm told), we wouldn't have had to touch our own money, but her mom hasn't had a job in 3 years.

We expect to make back some money from gifts. Probably not what we spent, but a decent portion to put back into savings.

So we're probably spending 3k or so. Which is a good chunk of change for what we make, but I can still sleep at night.

Like I said, when you say wedding, relatives become generous. We wouldn't have had the other 6k if it wasn't for the wedding. I'd have loved to say, hey we want a new car let me get 6k but it doesn't work like that.

I'm still sour about the wedding I Best Man'd. The only single woman there was a bridesmaid that I HATE and he didn't get me a gift for being his Best Man. I got that clown a 50" TV for his wedding gift and he couldn't even give the token flask or Vikings memorabilia for being in his wedding party.

*appreciate it if we kept this off Twitter. He follows me lol*

I'll have my wedding party in my backyard if need be. We already have aspirations for a house and I want a new car. Ain't going to toss money on a fire for one day.

Yeah we started that way too. LOL

It was originally a couple thousand cheaper, but the venue changed owners and they raised prices a bit with new renovations. They actually just raised them again. I actually have to check that out; my fiancé is convinced since we signed a contract we're locked into that price, but I'm pretty sure there's fine print that says they can change anything at any reasonable time. I don't think they'll dick us over, especially since we came back to them after ownership change.

The last girl said she felt she was too qualified for the position, but would still consider taking the job. She did not calculate payroll correctly either.
Payroll is easy to learn though. You just need to know how to read IRS instructions. They don't really teach payroll other than a quick pass-by in school.

Most of the interviewees have experience doing payroll, though. I doubt I would have been able to do that fresh out of school (IIRC they never really touched on employer taxes and withholdings much), but would feel comfortable doing it by hand now.

12 grand isn't much at all for a wedding. Weddings on average will run you anywhere from 20-30 grand.

I agree with what Shiz said about young couples and expensive weddings. If you're a young couple just starting out, buying a house and having a modest wedding is a smart idea. Of course that's easier said than done. Some women want that big over the top day. Can't fault them either as that is something they've been told a wedding is supposed to be since they were little girls.

There's no right or wrong either way you go. You're an attention starved dick if you have a destination wedding though. Those things are the absolute worst. Why should I pay money to go on a trip to see you get married? No thanks.

So these are up for auction:

Gets me to thinking, what's the weirdest bathroom setup you've ever seen? Mine is hands down Michigan Stadium. They might have updated them in the latest round of renovations. But when I was there, you would piss onto the wall that had a constant stream of water going down it. It was like a labyrinth of piss walls with no real beginning or end. You went in one door, found a spot, and exited the other side.

I've seen those wall things before at a club in Foxwoods Casino.

Strangest for me was the bathrooms at McCoy Stadium (Red Sox AAA affiliate). Strange because I was a little kid and having to pee in one of the large circular troughs, in front of a bunch of other guys was weird/scary.

Edit - Just noticed the link was about a trough. lol

Brewery up here just had a trough filled with ice to pee on. I am not sure what that was all about but it worked.

To lessen the pee smell I suppose.
