12k for a wedding? Wouldn't a down payment on a house be more beneficial? A new car? **** is just stupid and I'll never understand it. Not difficult to understand why newlyweds have money issues.

Agreed. My wife had a "destination elopement" in Maui. We stayed there for 8 days, ate great every day and went on all kinds of crazy excursions for about half of 12k.

I've been to some expensive weddings and I get that some brides want "their day" and stuff, but I'm certainly glad that mine wife didn't need to have all of that.

Applied for so many jobs and the one I might get seems ok,only thing is that the hours are at somewhat strange times,I'm basically gonna have no time for any other kind of life cause my schedule will be so diff compared to everyone else I know,it's almost night shift like stuff. Gonna suck not being able to watch sports anymore, just won't feel the same watching them on my DVR. I've tried DVRing sports games in the past, definitely doesn't feel the same,so many temptations to always skip ahead lol(though most will prob get spoiled for me before I ever get home to begin with,world cup being the first of a long line of things that'll be ruined for me)

lol,kinda stupid reasoning,but I really only see myself doing this for several months to a year at most anyways unless better hours open up,then I'll just start looking back at other stuff again.

Random thought for today is that I would like another game set around the revolutionary war. Kind of like AC3 but in a FPS style. Maybe you could be part of a spec ops group or something... Now I'm just rambling and bored and it's way too early in the work day for that.

*insert back and forth on the merits of giving birthday gifts to kids when its not their birthdays and the overall merits of birthdays in general*

She contested that it was being fair to the other child(ren) even though its not their birthday. I told her that **** didn't happen with us and (left unsaid) creates an entitlement with the older child which is what has happened before on both sides of the family.

Helllll NO!!! Having a 3 year old and being around other little kids this opens the door to hell. It seems like the "nice" thing to do but creates unrealistic expectations.
