I've been zip-lining before and it's really not that bad. I'm very afraid of heights, but it was manageable. I feel a lot more safe on a zipline than I probably would if I went sky-diving or bungee jumping. I don't ever plan on doing those other two, but I'd certainly zip-line again.MLB: Minnesota Twins

Re: Off Topic 2014
Are there any bike owners on here? I am assuming there are. I just bought a new car(Used. I won't ever buy brand new unless I am rich) and plan to have it paid off in the next couple of years and was thinking of possibly going after a bike one day afterwards. I just have zero knowledge on the things outside of the fact they have 2 wheels.“No one is more hated than he who speaks the truth.”

I don't own one and don't plan to ever own. Some may disagree with me if they have one, but imo it's just a stupid thing to own. You can be the safest driver in the world, but it takes only one simple accident for it to take your life by the hands of another stupid driver. Sadly my step dad's cousin lost her husband in an accident while driving home from work on one just this past week.Saints, LSU, Seminoles, Pelicans, Marlins, LightningComment

Yea way too many crappy drivers out there for me to entrust my life with them. I drive hundreds of miles a week and it's just crazy the amount of people on their phones.

Re: Off Topic 2014
I get where you are coming from, but at the same time driving a car can be dangerous and get you killed instantly. Obviously if you're on a bike instead of being in a car you are more likely going to get a lot more damage done to you.
It's not something I would use as my every day vehicle for a lot of reasons, but they've always been that type of thing you like, but never actually research or anything. So I like bikes, but know nothing. Hopefully you all understand what I mean with that. I would like to have one for nice summer days though and the likes. It's not like I am sold on getting one, just a thought and was curious as to what anyone had to say regarding them.
I hear that too Cuse. I put up 500 miles this past week and some drivers just make me angry with how bad they are. I can't stand how 90% of the population does not understand how basic intersections work unless they have traffic lights.“No one is more hated than he who speaks the truth.”

Re: Off Topic 2014
When I was younger I thought it'd be cool to have a bike. But I have a girlfriend now that means a lot to me (and planning for the future) and after seeing a friend of mine get paralyzed because of an idiot driver, there's no way I'd get one now. Not worth it

Hey Cusefan it's great that you and your mom are coping as well as you seem to be. That sense of humor your mother showed was great to read. Again sorry to hear about your dad especially knowing he was so CLOSE to retirement.Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club

There definitely is a lure to motorcycles. I'd want a street bike. So cool. But yeah, I would never actually get one. I, too, know someone who is paralyzed from getting rear ended while riding. I guess I get it from my dad, he grew up on them but never owned one for as long as I've been alive. We're probably the reason he doesn't.
On my way home from work there's a guy who rides the same route as me when I get off at 5. I always make sure to be extra cognizant of motorcycles. They really can disappear from view in the blind spots. So I'll settle for just admiring from the "safety" of my car.NHL - Philadelphia Flyers

It was a surprise but not completely shocking, he just didn't take care of himself like he should have. He was a textbook functioning alcoholic and he had a quadruple bypass about 14 years ago. He was really looking forward to retiring so he could smoke the green stuff which I was hopeful he would trade one habit for another.My dog's butt smells like cookiesComment

Anyone interested in this Fantasy Football idea? I tried to get going before but didn't have many bites, but I feel it's unique and not much input from users, which may or may not turn off people.
If interested post in the thread. Thanks!
NFL Team Draft - how to play in spoilers.
SpoilerI would like to get 8 members involved on this. (We could do more or less depending on interest, no more than 10 members) Maybe $10 a person and use League Safe.
Here's how it works -
We start a draft and each round you pick an NFL team. (8 members, 4 NFL teams each)
Each week those 4 teams you draft will give you points.
Here's the scoring system we could use
Win = 2 points
Loss = -1 point
Division Champion = 5 points
Playoff Win = 3 points
Getting to Championship game = 4 points
Getting to Super Bowl = 7 points
Super Bowl Champions = 10 points
Best Record in NFL = 3 points
Worst Record in NFL = -3 points
There are other options I have thought about for awarding points - #1 offense, #1 defense etc... We could pretty much play with the scoring and what awards points.
Basically all you have to do is participate in the draft and I do all the work behind the scenes with tallying points weekly.
Anyone interested?
