Eh, moving on.
There's a great article about the San Joaquin river here. http://www.cnn.com/interactive/2014/...red-river-ctl/
Taking my kids to go camping there this weekend. Just east of where this guy camps at Sycamore Island in the story.
It's crazy how half way to the ocean it just stops and gets completely diverted and never makes it's way fully to the ocean.Originally posted by Anthony BourdainThe celebrity chef culture is a remarkable and admittedly annoying phenomenon. Re: Off Topic 2014
Well this turned into an interesting night.
I was at my friend's place to eat and watch some Six Feet Under. I left around 11 and walked back home. I'm playing some Madden and she texts me about an hour later asking "why did you leave?". I said "because you have to go to sleep to be up for work in the morning and I figured I'd go home and play Madden lol". She says ok and that was that. Or so I thought.
About an hour later she calls me. I pick up and her first words are "you shouldn't have left", but the tone in her voice sounded like something was wrong and it sent this feeling through my entire body. I stood up immediately. She tells me some guy is outside trying to break in and that she called the cops. I fly out the house and start hauling ****ing ***. I tell her I'm on my way and she's trying to tell me not to come. Yeah right, like I'm going to sit at home and keep playing Madden while she's in danger.
So I run my *** off to her place. She lives a good 20-30 minutes away and this was a solid reminder of two things. 1) I really need a car and 2) I'm not in as good of shape as I thought I was
Anyways, I make it to her place. On the way there I see a cop car creeping around. Luckily they didn't see me and assume I was the guy considering I was in all black and running the streets at 1:30 at night. Oh yeah and I tried to wave down a car passing by to see if they could give me a quick lift there but they didn't even bother to stop. Clowns.
The cops came not long after I got there and told us they got the guy and that he was just some drunk loser. Luckily I didn't see him on the way there because I probably would have beat the **** out of him.
So now I'm still at her place and she's just now getting to sleep. And the funny thing is we were just joking around last week about what would happen if someone tried breaking in. Also, on top of that, when I was first there earlier in the night she said something about wishing someone had her back. At the time I joked around and made one of those throat clearing noises and then sure enough this happens and I said to her "told you I have your back".
So that was my night.Comment

You know you've reached a level of maturity with women when the girl you've been talking to says she's hanging out with a dude she recently met tonight and you're tell her to come over after.

Holy **** I'm getting married next week!!
Outside ceremony... rain in the forecast. Obviously! Reception is inside. Ceremony can be moved inside, and if it's crappy out, it'll probably look a lot better that way. Very nice bay window, beautiful chandelier. Could be a blessing in disguise.

Re: Off Topic 2014
To break it down into simpler terms, when you know a girl isn't the one and you just want to well... see her after hours. That is a step forward for me because I have always been one of the emotionally attached kind of guy. Now that I'm older, that is wearing off and it is a good feeling. That's all lol
