As far as the town home versus house thing, I guess it all depends on what you want. Do you you plan on having a family? What about pets? Do you want a yard? Do you want more privacy? Do you have a lot of guest? How many parking spaces available at a town home? Things of that nature. Of course these aren't questions you need to answer here, but just things to think about.

Also, I believe that financing is a little more difficult in a townhouse versus a single family home, and rates may be higher too, but I may be wrong about that. Lastly, depending on what you're approved for, a townhouse may be nicer than a starter home. However when you factor in things like privacy, freedom to do what you want to the home (assuming you don't have an HoA), more room (in sq ft., yard space, etc.), location, resale value, etc. There's a lot to consider and all of it really depends on what your particular wants/needs are.
you dont want to be stuck in a townhouse with bad/loud neighbors, ask me how i know

My wife works in a deli and regularly has 12 hour days. She's beat when she comes home. Ends up passing out in the game chair while playing WoW after like an hour or two.

OK, this made me laugh out loud. I saw one of my friends post a link on FB, it was titled: "A list of everyone you need to unfriend IMMEDIATELY on Facebook".

Just finished our Annual Company Meeting. Two good things came out of it 1) We're getting the Friday after Christmas off as an extra paid holiday and 2) they bought the building next to ours and they're going to tear it down and build a company gym with a basketball court.

Now it's time to go home and get ready for the Christmas party tonight.
