My dad is 59 years old, has 6 grandkids, and plays Battlefield Bad Company 2 on a weekly basis lol. I must say that, as a 33 year old, its a blast to log on and play with my dad. Great way to keep in touch and like somebody else said as you get older its a great way to keep your eye/hand coordination going.

Re: 32 years old - time to hang up the video games?
I'm 34 and I game now more than I did in my late teens and twenties. Of course back then all my free time was spent out drinking and chasing tail. You know, before you could talk to a plethora of chicks from the comfort of you're own home?
I play games almost nightly now. With that said we should point out that I'm married and we don't have any kids. I work a 8-5 M-F job so I actually have a lot of free time to do what I want. I have my hobbies and my wife has hers. We spend time together when we get home (cooking dinner, playing with the dogs, watching our programs, etc.), then we'll go our separate way and do our own thing. I know a lot of people consider gaming an expensive and time consuming hobby but the way we think of it is it's a lot cheaper and less time consuming than most of the alternatives.
At the end of the day the bottom line is that you should do whatever makes you happy. Sure most of us can't sit down for an 8 hour gaming session like we did back in the day. That's just part of being an adult. As long as gaming doesn't get in your way of your job or completing your responsibilities at home then who the heck cares? My 2K17 Boston Celtics MyLeague

Re: 32 years old - time to hang up the video games?
I'm 32 and I have a wife and 3.75 kids and I play a lot of games. I've got a demanding 8-5 sales job and games are how I decompress. My wife likes it because I'm not out at bars spending $100 a night and she always knows where to find me.
I don't feel guilty about the time because most people spend a couple hours a day watching TV and I use that time to play videogames instead.Comment

Re: 32 years old - time to hang up the video games?
I play less as I've gotten older, married and a small child, not because I don't have time or like gaming any less, I just sometimes don't have the energy and I am just too tired.
I play a few nights a week. My wife will watch a show or read a book and I will game once the kids go to bed. I don't start on weeknights until 9 or 10. So it's a balancing issue. Stay up and game and be tired the next day or go to bed.
I also have to balance time with my wife as well. So I limit it to a few nights a week. We both need our alone time to unwind though. I have been playing a bit more lately because she is in grad school at night and she usually falls asleep pretty quickly after. So I make sure laundry is done, dinner is cooked, kids bathed etc... While she bunkers down in the room doing school work.
It's all a balancing act and making sure you take care of business first. My wife doesn't care that I game. I think she is glad I would rather stay home and game than go to the bar.
I've said it before when topics like this come up, but I plan on being the grandpa that is still gaming and hopefully gaming with the grand kids.
I'm planning on being that dad/grandpa too...I played NES a bit with my parents, but they weren't as into it (or sports) as I am, so I think I'll do a bit more with my kids (if they're interested).
My kids will be happy that we have the coolest stuff sooner than they would if they had to pay all the time lol.Nintendo Switch Friend Code: SW-7009-7102-8818Comment

Re: 32 years old - time to hang up the video games?
A lot of times I'll be watching TV and go, why don't I play PS3 instead? Make some progress on one of my franchises.
I've found with a full time job and a full time girl, gaming time is scarce. But it just makes being able to sit down and play that much more enjoyable.
Planning on having a family here in the next few years. Being able to game with my son or daughter would be amazing. I loved playing Tecmo Super Bowl with my brothers or anytime we could play a co-op game.
It's never going to go away, it just will never be like it was when I was a kid. It's been years since I could skip school and veg in front of the XBOX, so I'm used to this routine.NHL - Philadelphia Flyers
NFL - Buffalo Bills
MLB - Cincinnati Reds

Wife asked me if I was going to playing video games when I'm 50. I said, "what do you think?" She said I see you playing until your hands fall off. Love her...Moderator

Man, this is the reason I'm up till 3 AM every night - work at 7 AM. It doesn't matter, I make time for my gaming. I enjoy it - and my wife loves that I am home than out and about. I'm going to do this for as long as I live!Comment
