    This is a great tool...

Last year around this time I weighed in at a Soft 225 lbs. I was approaching my 40th bday, and didn't want to be fat anymore. So, I started by buying an elliptical in June of 2014. Started by doing 30 minutes a day until September 1st 2014. Then I did Rushfit (Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced) it changed my life. Now I weigh 156 lbs, with 12.9% body fat. Not where I want to be, but I am working my *** off every day to hit 7%.

Main thing is to remain consistent. Don't get discouraged. Keep your calories in check and sweat. You will get results. Good luck!

Wow, congrats man. Curious though, how tall are you?

          I have a question

I'm decided to start making changes today and really make a run at turning my life around.

As far as the "only drink water" guideline, does that apply to healthy things like coconut water or acai juice, or is it more about just cutting out soda and stuff like that.

Tough cause i crave something flavor in drinks, thinking of just getting the MIO type things and using those with water.

Iced Tea is probably ok, right? Unsweetened obviously.
I'll also have one travel mug of coffee every morning, and I'd keep that up as well.

I know just drinking water is best, but I need to be realistic too.
Really funny, but I did start drinking a ton of iced tea lately, and I've cut out all pop (well, maybe once in a while as a reward, but I'm craving it less and less lately).

Not sure if I'm losing weight, but I do feel good, and the tea satisfies my desire for flavor.

Anything natural is great, nothing processed. I always make my own juice from fruit and veggies.

That's something I recommend everyone to do is get a juicer and a blender and make a daily juice and/or smoothie. Your life will turn around quick.

I, too, am trying to turn my health around this summer. I am a veterinary student and sometimes because of the time demands, it leads to lots of caffeine, little sleep, and eating like crap. Also the gym has been missed more times than I care to recount.

Would love to bounce around ideas with anyone interested. Having support I have found makes all the difference.

Congrats on making changes my man.

For me I'm trying to take baby steps.

In my younger days I could crash diet and work out like crazy but I can't get away with that anymore.

Working out is a big deal for me because it helps my appetite control. I'm less apt to have a setback if I worked out hard earlier that day.

I've let myself get extremely unhealthy the last couple years. I'm so overweight that if I work out too hard my knees or my lower back start having issues, sometimes my feet do too. I'm just trying to do something small every day at the moment and hopefully after dropping some weight I can resume a real workout plan

Thank you my friend! Like you said, I really believe it is about baby steps. I try to focus on one goal every week or 2 weeks and it makes it feel much more achievable.

I got back to the gym last week and while it felt good, I will admit too it was a little bit of a shock to the system to be like, "yikes I really am badly out of shape." I am also trying to cut down my soda intake. Like you said it is all about the baby steps. We will get there.

Guess you're all ready for summer, man. Good job! My own weight loss journey began a summer ago. Unfortunately, I gained some weight but I'm shedding it off slowly with crossfit. I've been at it for a few months now; before that, I was just into some calisthenics. I made the switch because I had friends helping me out. I left the US recently and moved to northern Europe and it's been weeks since my last visit to the gym. Just can't get my crossfit groove back without some moral support, I guess lol. I'm hoping to find buddies who are into crossfit stockholm based preferably so that I can get my summer body back

That is great man! I hope you can find some people to keep at it with you. I have always been curious about crossfit. I hear a lot of hype around it but have never seriously looked into it due to time constraints (veterinary student + full time job on the side). What is your honest opinion of it?

Lol I've been trying to lose weight since like 2010. Something finally clicked this year, lost 18 lbs so far. Only 30 more to go!

Use a physical calendar. Put it on your wall, check off consecutive days in which you work out and/or don't eat junk food. It will help

The hard thing about getting healthy is there are no tricks and secrets. We all know what you have to do: eat more fruits and vegetables, some lean meat, and lay off the processed food. And exercise.

I've lost 12 pounds in two weeks doing this. And you don't really have to exercise very much if your diet is good. It sort of sucks and I miss burgers and fries, but I love how my pants don't squeeze the life out of me anymore.

I also think vitamins are a bunch of bull. We need to get our vitamins from good food. Of course, I may be way off with that opinion. All I know is my soon to be ex wife took tons of vitamins and was always sick.

I really just think diet and exercise works. Diet = limit calorie intake to an amount that doesn't exceed your amount of calories burned that day.

I've been able to sneak in a few cheats and still lose weight. The key is I don't binge on those cheats. I make sure they are moderate in size and I keep up my workout regiment the next day.

12 lbs in 2 weeks is cool...but not sustainable. 1-2 lbs/week is ideal and a change in lifestyle could net you these results.
