Need some OS help, my fiancé has Multiple Sclerosis (MS)

Hello all, I would like to thank Steve for allowing me to post this request as I PM'ed him prior to in order to make sure it was alright to post this here...so per his instruction I wanted to make sure the mods knew that beforehand..

Anyways, as you may or may not know my fiance Stefanie Jones was recently diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis (MS). There is a fund raising walk coming up soon here in Columbus, OH to raise money towards finding a cure for MS. Stefanie and I have created a team called The Strike Team (yes we are The Shield fans, LOL) and we are trying to get people to come out and walk and/or donate whatever they can afford to help find a cure for Multiple Sclerosis. So far, in this past week, Stef and I have managed to raise nearly $800 and our goal is $1,000..

Please go to the site today to join our team, donate to help fight MS and/or find out more information on joining us for the walk if you are local to Columbus, OH. The walk is 1.5 miles (you can walk the route twice if you so desire) and it will occur Saturday, April 12th at 7:30am at the Columbus Zoo.

Any donation you can give is greatly appreciated and if you can't give right now we are taking donations until the race.

WOW....last night, right after posting this, I had a very generous donation of $200 from an individual here on this site, who I shall not name as I do not know if they want to make it public or not (feel free to post if you do however) and it makes me so happy to call OS my home to see such a generous donation. Even my stoic nature was moved by such a huge gesture last night.

We are only $10 away from hitting $1,000...I'm asking my OS brothers to please donate what they can, even if it's only $1. Thanks again all!

Sincere thoughts and prayers for your fiancé and you as an important part of her support structure. I am 8 years or so post MS diagnosis. I have done a lot of armchair medical research in addition to living with this crap. So if there are any topics you end up looking for information or just random stranger on the internet input on, I would be willing to pass on any opinions I have picked up.

I am a strong believer that MS affects everyone differently and that so many things with the disease revolve around personal choices and not concrete right or wrong answers. So I think that helps me be pretty open without a lot of "do this that way or you are doing it wrong."

I realize it is very much a personal topic that you/she might not want to hear anything, but I am just throwing the offer out there. I have pretty much decided after years of filling out the same medical forms a million times that I am not all that worried about my own medical privacy. So, open posts or pm's are fine by me but I understand it can be a really touchy subject area for many.

Zalf, thank you for taking the time to comment here and tell us about your own experience with MS. I'm open with my life as well but Stef isn't as much. She's doing great now with the exception of numbness on her left side of her body. She was experiencing spots of bright light in one eye for a spell but it that's went away.

I'd like to thank everyone who donated or walked with us yesterday! We raised $1,588 this year for the search for a cure.

Next year our goal is $2,000!!
