      Re: Ebay Question

Or you can use eBay's global shipping program, which is what ebay probably listed for you. You ship to the eBay authorized shipping center in the US, and they take care of the rest of it. They take care of customs, taxes, etc.

On the buyers end, it'll give them an estimated tax/duty fee etc on top of the shipping and ebay costs.

That's what ebay is telling me is going on. I went to send the invoice and see a message pop up about the Global Shipping Program. I guess if it is a simple process I can send another message to the buyer. He hasn't answered the first one yet.

          Re: Ebay Question

This thread has been useful thus far. I appreciate the responses to my initial query.

I found a Ghostbusters firehouse in my brother's old closet. It seems to sell for a fair amount on the ebays. Can I estimate shipping based off of other user's shipping prices? If not, what's the process for shipping an awkward sized thing like that (couple of feet high, rectangular, not crazy heavy - shown below).

I generally base it on what others are charging. If you want a more accurate amount just go to the post office and have them check for you, pick a zip code furthest from you knowing it wont cost anymore then that and base your price accordingly.

Priority mail is a good one. Flat rate and insured up to a certain amount for free.

I'm sure there's plenty of prostitutes you could pay if you really want vd.
yea but will they take psn cards
Depends on what area of a hooker you would use to redeem them.

                  Re: Ebay Question

I've been using Ebay for year. I only buy on Ebay. I sell to private buyers off line. The rest is for private collection and what not. You can also get the eBay app on your mobile device. Lets say you are looking for a nice pair pf pumps for your wife at Macys. I grab the shoe, scan the bar code on my eBay app and get an instant price check. I use it all the time at the mall. You would be surprised how much of a price difference the avg item is. Every once in a while the store is actually cheaper when you calculate shipping. So, that's my .02

PS, as others have noted, do not bid on an item unless you want to buy it. If you have any doubts then don't bid.

so you don't recommend selling on eBay?

and speaking of selling, does anyone know how is Amazon compared to eBay? do people buy from third party sellers often?

                    Sincerely, Blackheart

                      It depends.

I own a cellphone accessories store and occasionally buy used phones to flip. Granted, since I price to sell, very rarely does an item last 30 minutes before someone gobbles it up! That said, kiss 10% plus 2-3% or whatever PayPal charges off what it sold for, and that's assuming you have the buyer cover the shipping.

Not only that but the scam-buyers, the people who buy and never pay and the countless requests to do things that were clearly stated you wouldn't do in the listing are numerous!

                      Almost not worth the headache.

                      Almost!

I've made some nice money this year. You just have to take the good with the bad and weigh it all out.

As far as Amazon goes, I think some categories charge upwards to 25% which is worse! Read their seller TOS before using it!

thanks for the advice Heroes. and as I read that I'm sitting here in that same predicament.

I put my 360 elite up for sale, one person bid and won it. and now its two days later and he has not paid. I already sent him an invoice and a message. if I don't hear anything back by tomorrow I'm going to open up a case. Smh.

                          Two things:

                          1. In every listing, I clearly post Buyer has 48 hours upon purchasing the item to make payment otherwise the item will be relisted.

Though Ebay may have different policies regarding payment timimg, I post this clearly to protect myself.

                          2. I've adjusted my seller settings, which I urge you to do, to not allowing buyers that don't meet certain criteria, to NOT be able to buy or bid on my items.

This doesn't alleviate the headache completely, but I've clicked on the Resolution Center link much less since taking these steps!
