They believed it was caused by tiny droplets in the air but cannot prove that theory.

I think if that was the case (airborne), this thing would have ravaged Africa much more than it's doing.

The bottom line in the states is that they can't treat this thing with kid gloves and worry about all of the political correctness and power plays that were going on with AIDS when it first emerged.

It's airborne in the sense that you could become infected if someone sneezes all over you.

But it's not airborne in the sense that it could travel through an air duct and infect a person in the next room.

Man.... I just cannot remember the last time that that happened, but then again, I don't have to ride crowded subways, etc.

Having worked with the general public, couldn't tell you how many times I've had customers sneeze on me, cough all over me, blow smoke on me....or women handing me sweaty boob money.

                        Seriously though....
I'm not going to post it...but the F.D.N.Y. has issued new protocol for answering certain types of responses and have issued haz-tech suits(with hoods...that's key .....) to answer these calls. Just got the word yesterday.

Side note:....I know it was likely a private cleaning company and it's probably just their PPE protocol....but why the respirators when cleaning the Texas victims apartment if they are not worried about air travel?(not saying I think it's airborne......as in just hanging in the air waiting to infect)...but..
                        Just makes you think......

I don't know about you, but even if there was a chance it could be airborne, I'd gladly wear one of those full body HAZMAT suits.

                          But yeah, it's interesting...

It's really that they don't know for absolute certain. We've already seen people being clumsy with patients and it ending up leading to an infection.

This is my feeling, I know the CDC put out a release yesterday saying not to panic but I think we should all be wary of everything. The professionals and people that have anything to do with treating or covering stories about this should all take extreme caution. I know it's cliche but really, it's better to be safe than sorry.

                                Ebola

The balance between safely handling the remains and being sensitive to his family is not one I would want to be in charge of.

As someone not connected to him at all, it's really easy to say whatever means necessary to safely dispose of the body. But I know I'd feel much different if he was a brother, uncle, etc. And I consider myself a pretty reasonable, not emotionally driven person.
