You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers. I can't imagine losing my dad like that, I really feel for you! I'd just say to talk to people if you're struggling and don't just keep it inside. It's ok to cry and be sad.

I second this, it's very important to confront your emotions and deal with them.

My mom passed away two weeks before I turned 13 years old back in December 1999. I just started going to a grief class this July because I finally wanted to confront the emotions and grief that I ran away from for almost 15 years. Take it from me, someone who tried to convince himself that I was okay, that I don't need to cry about it because I'm a man. Crying about my mom's loss was the best thing I've done to help me truly accept that she's gone and be okay with it. Yelling/anger helps too. You are going to be experiencing all kinds of different emotions and the best advice I can give you is that no matter how scary it may seem, you need to dive into the tide of emotions coming your way and take them on. TRUST ME when I say that you will feel much better and move on much quicker if you deal with your emotions rather than avoiding them. You may not be ready to do so anytime soon and that's perfectly fine. All I'm saying is don't wait 15 years to do it like I did.

Keep your head up man. I promise you that it will get better.

I feel for you man. I lost my grandfather last month, so I know how you feel to some extent. You just have to keep your mind occupied on other stuff that you love.

My dad passed away last night

My pops died 3 weeks ago and it does get better, I will randomly think of him throughout the day and it really bums me out he's gone. I know football season will be especially tough since we watched games together every sunday then had a meal he had been cooking all day.

Stay strong for your family, I'm sure you've already found out there's lots of stuff that needs doing and planning so you'll need to be a rock for others. You'll be in my thoughts bud.
