    Interview with Kodiak

How long have you been reading Operations Sports and what brought you here?

I have been here for almost a year. Being how NCAA 04 was about to come out I was trying to find info on it and a google search brought me here. I made one post in July and then never made it back to the forums until I was able to get everything set up so I could work from home. Now its almost a daily routine.

What made you decide to donate to Operation Sports?

I fell in love with OS immediately. Sometimes my wife thinks I love my video games and OS more than her. Anyways, I told myself I would donate before my 1 year mark and that was quicly approaching so I hit up the link and got it done. For those who can afford it, I strongly recommend doing at least once a year. I would hate to see this place vanish. This is such a great site and I have met some good people on here. They know who they are but I will not name names in case I forget someone.

    Your favorite Sports Teams?

I am an alum of Florida State so everything starts there. I started rooting for them back in 86 and decided that was where I was going to college. The best time for me was Christmas of 99. My cousin graduated(attending at the time) from Virginia Tech and he was talking about how the Hokies were going to destroy us at the Sugar Bowl. Well we know how that turned out.

    Other favs-
College Basketball-Duke and Richmond(Grew up going to their games since my dad is an UR alum)
Pro Baseball-New York Yankees(first game was at the Stadium during the 77 WS when Reggie hit his
3 homers. My dad was a Yanks fan so I grew up with them)
Pro Football-From birth until 97 I was a Redskins fan but when Warrick Dunn was drafted by the Bucs
I converted. Plus TB alread had Derrick Brooks from FSU. Now Dunn is in ATL so I
still root for him but now that the ole ball coach is gone I might start rooting for
Deadskins again. But TB will still be in my heart as well.
Pro Bball- Eh I dont really watch it anymore until playoff time.

    What are your hobbies?

Outside of videogaming and OS I love to play golf, basketball, and softball. I still have a pretty deep sports card collection although I really dont buy and trade like I did back in the early 90's. I love just getting in the car and driving while listening to music. That helps me to just mellow out sometimes when I have had a rough day or things are not going so great.

Tell us about about your family?

Well first off I am 6'6 and was lucky enough to find a beautiful and tall women. My wife is 6'1 and yeah we are going to be working on our own basketball team. Both of us are athletic and come from rich sports backgrounds so passing that on to the kids should be no problem. We have a 6 yr old son named Alex and a beautiful 2 yr old daughter named Sierra. Also, I am lucky enough to have gotten a job in the St Louis metro that has enabled us to be within a 20 minute drive to my parents house. I have a little sis who is 22 and is a SR at Mizzou and a 14 year old brother, who my kids just adore. My father is a dentist and my mom is fighting breast cancer right now. Everything is going well so far, she just finished chemo and is in the middle of radiation. She's a fighter so we are all doing well with it. Thats a not so brief look at my family. And I just want to add thanks for letting me get to be apart of the OS family.

    FSU!!

Man, I used to trade cards all day and night in the early 90's. Oh the memories!! I don't have many rookies left, sold them when I needed to buy me a set of wheels.

I'll send out a prayer for your mom.

Great interview Kodiak. Its been a pleasure getting to know you personally through AIM, as we've quite often talked about our problems and such. Most definitely one of the classier posters here at OS.

I used to be a sportscard collector fiend myself back in the early '90s.
