    Interview with ehh

How long have you been reading Operations Sports and what brought you here?

I came here a year and a half ago because I was looking for information on World Series Baseball 2K3, and for something to take up my time during work. And as a former journalism major I naturally love to write. Sports+Videogames+Writing=Close to heaven for me. I've been hooked ever since.

What made you decide to donate to Operation Sports?

I'm approaching 1,000 posts and OS has more than helped me get through some slow work days. So considering that I get paid to read OS half the time I'm at work, I figured they deserved some of that money!

    Your favorite Sports Teams?

I'm mostly a local guy. My first love has always been the Yanks. I still have my autographed baseball of Don Mattingly, Alvario Espinoza and Steve Balboni from my first ever Yankee game, which was in '88 I believe. Basketball is the Knicks, which was painful growing up watching MJ destroy them year in and year out. UConn of course is my favorite basketball team. I've been fortuanate enough to play in a pick-up game with Ray Allen and seen many of the greats come through Storrs in the past decade. Football is also UConn, and Michigan, for college and the Dolphins for the NFL. My father has had season tickets to the Jets since '82, so I assume I grew to be a Dolphin fan because when I was little I always enjoyed seeing my dad suffer when the Jets lost, and Miami handed them quite a few back in the day. And Marino is easily my favorite fotoball player of all-time. I was sitting in the 11th row in that very corner of the endzone for the famous "fake spike incident" back in '94. My only real random team that I like is Michigan, and that's 100% because of the Fab Five. They're the reason I got into basketball, which was the focal point of the first 21 years of my life. No matter the scandal, they'll always be my boys.

    What are your hobbies?

Now that my basketball career is over, I still play pick-up alot. I've been huge into poker for about 5 years (well before the recent Poker boom) and frequent Foxwoods. I also love playing wiffleball, football, softball, horse shoes and pretty much anything that gets me outside. I also love to write, which is one of the main reasons I come to OS. And of course, I'm a college kid so I party hardy. I'm pretty much an alcoholic, but at least I'm enjoying the "best four years of my life" to the max.

Tell us about about your family?

My family goes back to Brooklyn, and my parents grew up in Nassau County on Long Island. They moved to Connecticut in the early 80's right before I was born. I have one sister who's a few years older than me who is a high school teacher, same occupation as my mom. My dad owns a small, up-and-coming phone company and works out of the house, but is getting his own office in our town this Fall. As for women, I found the girl of my dreams my sophomore year in college but wasn't ready for a relationship. Neither of us were really, and we both were idiots and screwed it up. She still wanted to be friends but I refused to talk to her because I'm like that. Then this May she tells me she still loves me and she can't see herself with any other guy. Anyway, I've settled down a bit and I'm hoping we get back together (and stay that way)this January when she gets back from studying abroad in London.

And that is 'ehh' for you!!

yeah, good luck with her bro! I'm somewhat in the same situation, met a great girl 4 years ago over the summer, we dated and had a blast, but our schools were pretty far away, and we weren't quite ready for dealing with a distance thing, so it just didn't work. Hadn't heard from her until 3 weeks ago, she lives like 15 mins from me, go figure...we'll see where it goes, but I know where you're coming from. Great interview

Yeah, this damn girl stuff gets brutal. I thought it'd get easier after you out grown your teenage years and all that puppy-love and infatuation stuff but it's just different now, it hasn't disappeared.

Oh well, I'm lucky enough that I'm not super pyschotic over her and don't think about her 24/7, though I do have at least one dream a week about us being back together. I guess that's a sure sign I still love her, no matter how much I try to tell myself I don't.
