Dreamcast is a hidden gem, in my opinion. Great games and great tech on that thing. Still think the controller/VMU (I think that's what it was called) was waaaaay ahead of its time. You could say, to a degree, the Wii U is its successor and its a decade and a half later.

PS2 and XBOX came 1 and 2 years later. Crazy that Dreamcast is the forgotten one while those two are beloved.

Still have my Sega Sports black Dreamcast. Sadly piracy killed it.

Off Topic 2015

I loved the Dreamcast controller. I know people got on it because it looked different but I really loved it.

I have similar feelings about the Gamecube controller.

Doesn't seem so crazy now. It's very bulky but the XBOX hamburger controller was too.

Missing that second analog stick we pretty much take for granted now. And shoulder buttons. Triggers were nice.

NFL 2k1 changed my life. Franchise mode?! You kidding me? I remember running a Vikings franchise on there for some reason, simming seasons until I got a roster of all generated players.

Hadn't even thought about the DVD thing. Never used old systems for that stuff but my PS3 is my all in one entertainment system today.

I love simming sports franchises til it's all generated guys. I'm in 2039 in nba 2k14 and going strong. The last three players to hang it up were Andre Drummond, Nerlens Noel, and Bradley Beal. I held a brief ceremony for them

Well no they retired probably 10 years ago.

Also, there has only been 1 player to make the hall of fame in the last 15 years, a 7'4" center that led the league in rebounds 10 years in a row

Anyone ever taken a job offer through LinkedIn?

I've gotten contacted by talent recruiters. It's flattering, but my job is pretty sweet.

I ask because, although I don't plan on leaving my current position, it's good to know there are options if something were to happen. I just want to know if they're truly legit.

Yeah, they message me because of my experience with offers that hold the same title as my current position. I've worked both "sides" of this industry, so that catches their eye.

I do plan on emailing them back, maybe even a phone call. Not that I plan to act on it, but who knows down the road it could be a good connection to have. I'm sure they send out tons of these things daily with a pretty low response rate.

I'll post an update after I do.

Co-worker I hate finally got fired. I'd normally feel guilty about celebrating someone losing their job, but this girl sucked. Had roughly 30 call offs in 18 months, and was out for nearly 3 months due to "extreme back pain". Played the system like a pro.
