Anyone have memory problems or forget a lot of things?

I feel like I have been real forgetful lately. Not major things like anniversary dates or birthdays, but smaller, in the moment things, I guess.

I will be on my phone looking at something and think, I need to look this up, keep scrolling, come across something else and totally forget what I was going to look up. Or be in a conversation and something will be brought up that I want to ask a question about, but by the time they are finished, I forgot what I was going to ask.

Even things like I should remember to call so and so tomorrow. Next day comes and I forgot all about it. Although that doesn't happen as frequently as the other examples.

I don't know if I have too much going on in my brain and trying to digest too much at one time, or something is really going on with me that I need to get checked out.

    I dunno too much!

I'm having that problem too, it's called getting old.

Being serious, I believe all the stuff I did when I younger is catching up to me slowly.

Getting old could be playing a part, although I will only be 34 in March. I never drank (just a few times here or there in a small stretch), dig drugs, smoked or anything like that, so I don't know...

I do but I have a great excuse. I have a traumatic Brain Injury. I was in a car accident and had to have brain surgery to stop bleeding on my brain. I wasn't suppose to survive the surgery and here I am 24 years later still going. I have memory problems among many other brain associated issues but I'm here

I came in here to post something but I can't remember what????

I read a while back that some of the foods we eat may cause memory issues. Seriously, can't remember where I read that and this time I am being honest.

I have this pretty bad. I constantly get distracted while in the middle of doing a task, then completely forget the task I was originally trying to do and never do it.

Often times, it's caused by a lack of attention on the main task and a failure to encode information from short term to long term memory. Focusing more on the task at hand and reducing distractions should help.

Are you stressed or have a lot of things on your mind lately or sleeping irregular? I wouldn't look to much into it, just maybe start keeping track of everyday tasks. Make a to-do list, store tasks in your phone (lots of apps for this) start writing things on the calendar, or post-it notes to help you.

                    No big deal.

I used to be a memory bank. Didn't forget anything. I hit 30, and now play an irritating game of hide and seek with my wallet and keys on a regular basis.

I have the same issues at times, usually if it involves names or some bit of knowledge it'll eventually come to me. In the meantime though, i'm usually groping around for the memory and it usually comes to me after a while.

Concussions and alcohol are major sources of my forgetfulness. If I knock back a few too many I'll write sticky notes for my sober self to read the next day or if I chat online I have to go back and read the archives of the stupid **** I said

Yeah I've had like a dozen diagnosed concussions. I never got into alcohol but a couple weeks ago I forgot the code to a room that I use 3 times a day minimum for the last several years and felt so embarrassed when I had to go to IT to get the code. "Aw you had a senior moment." Yeah no kidding. Concussions suck. My biggest fear is that I'll end up with dementia/Alzheimer's like my maternal Geandparents, who helped raise me and it was incredibly tough watching my grandpa die 9 years ago and it's rough watching my grandma go through it too. Both had had several concussions as youngsters, so it worries me.
