If you were drafted by a pro team, where would be the City you wouldn't want to go?

Saw a thread like this in another sports forum and I thought it was a cool thread..

    1. Which city would you absolutely not want to play in?
    2. Outside of your own hometown or closest major city to you where would you want to play in?

Cities I would least want to play for are:
    1. Detroit - Too Cold. Looks run down.
    2. Boston/New England - I find their accent annoying and I lived there and didn't like the scenery.
    3. New York City - It sucks to be a pro athlete in the big apple when the media is watching you every second. One mistake and you're screwed.

Cities I would love to play in:
    1. Vancouver, BC - Beautiful city and landscape.
    2. San Francisco/Bay Area - Frisco seems really cosmopolitan and active and I wouldn't mind playing anywhere in the bay minus Oakland.
    3. San Diego - See Vancouver's answer.

Maybe I'm more of a west coast type of person...

Edited: Cleveland is included due to popular demand...

Texas, Florida, Washington, and Tennessee would be the states I'd like to play in from a business standpoint, considering they don't have state income taxes.

From a personal interest standpoint, I'd be okay with playing anywhere outside of Los Angeles or Boston. Of course, where I wouldn't want to play depends on the sport.

Of course, above everything, any of these people drafted should be thanking their lucky stars they were drafted at all and cherish the fact that they're good enough and fortunate enough to have the talent and skill to play for a professional sports team.

Re: If you were drafted by a pro team, where would be the City you wouldn't want to g

I'm approaching this as if I were a young guy coming out of college, not at my current age.

Cities I'd want to go to:
      1. Miami
      2. San Diego
      3. Los Angeles

      Least...
      1. Any Minnesota city
      2. Seattle
      3. Kansas City

Mostly it'd be weather and the extra curriculars that'd make my decisions.

Just to throw it out there...at my current age...

      Most:
      1. Green Bay
      2. Charlotte (Home Town)
      3a. San Diego
      3b. Seattle

      Least:
      1a. New York
      1b. Los Angeles
      1c. Chicago

At my age it'd be the history, location, weather, traffic, scene to draw or turn me away.

Least would be anywhere that snows. Grew up in Alaska, **** snow.

For most, it pains me but I would say San Francisco. The combination of good food, the type of chicks I like and very faithful fans wins out every where else.

                Nice prerequisite there!

For me, it would depend on the sport. The only sport I was proficient in back in high school was baseball, so I'll just go with that for the sake of this question.

Teams I would most like to play for:

                1) Chicago Cubs - North side of Chicago is an awesome area to live in, just need to steer clear of the south side. Great fans, plenty of nightlife, the most historic stadium in all of baseball. Weather doesn't get too insanely hot in the summer, I'm not a fan of crazy heat. The team also has a plethora of young talent and the most forward-thinking manager of the modern era. Also an aggressive GM with a decent sized wallet at his disposal. This is without a doubt the team I'd most love to play for.

                2) San Francisco Giants - Another great area to live in with plenty of things to do. Currently the best fans in baseball, I believe they've had the number one attendance for 5-6 years running. Great weather and an absolutely gorgeous ballpark which also has unique characteristics that make it stand out. They also have a lot of talent, as evidenced by winning three championships in the last five years. This is an organization that thrives on pitching and plays the game the way it was meant to be played.

No other team honestly comes close to those two in terms of wanting to spend a large chunk of my life, including the entire prime of it, in. I'd pretty much prefer an National League team since I prefer their rules.

Teams I would least like to play for:

                1) New York Yankees - Gross. I hate their guts. I can't stand their fans. I don't like their stupid team rules that make no sense. Their new stadium is a joke of a little league park. Awful tabloid journalism style media too. I just hate them so much.

                2) Boston Red Sox - Pretty much the same reasons as I stated for the Yankees, only to a slightly lesser degree. They do have a wonderful ballpark though, I'll give them that much. At least they let their players have beards too. That's it though.

                3) Atlanta Braves - Growing up down south, the fanbase of this team was basically Yankees South. Only they have about 2% as many championships as the Yankees do. This is the only NL team that I loathe. The weather there is abysmal too.

                That's pretty much it.

                    Most like to go to:

                    Any Florida team (excluding Miami)

                    Chicago (it's most like Toronto)

San Francisco (very cosmopolitan and seems to have a laid back culture)

                    Least like to go to:

NY (Especially if it's the NBA yeesh, who'd wanna play for that dumpster fire of an organization?!)

Miami (The Marlins are a joke, I don't like the Heat and I could never see myself in a Dolphins uniform)

Any Texas team (Don't think I could fit in there especially with the media circus that the Cowboys can be)

I think we got a pretty damn good player who wants to be here. That's all I'll say about it.

I would love to play for Cleveland. The teams might not be that good year in and year out, but there's always gonna be fan support.

And besides, we're overlooking the most important part about Cleveland.
