Visited Pearl when was 11 with my Grandfather. It's something I'll never forget,. Standing on the Arizona Memorial and seeing this strong as oak man tear up was not lost on me even at that age.
I've heard this "patience is a virtue" junk all my life. I'm happy to say I have no virtue, no scruples, and no desire to wait too long for anything. In my humble opinion instant gratification takes too long!

Now, I'm not even of the age where I can recall 9/11, so I don't really have a grasp of what it's like for this country to really be "under attack," if you don't include terrorism and recent gun violence. I can only imagine how the nation as a whole could have felt after an event like this, and it just makes me glad that we won the war that we so enthusiastically went into, and deservedly so.

A Date Which Will Live In Infamy

Went to Hawaii back in 94 and flew right over this. Didn't actually go to the Memorial but I could see it from an area on land where a lot of tourist where and it's was a strange/sad feeling knowing what happened that day and for those who lost there lives. "Gone but not forgotten"

            Great article, Knight.

I personally always associate Harry Truman with this time period...one of my favorite presidents. As a side note: I didn't know until recently he didn't have a college degree.

This jumped out at me. I cannot believe I'm old enough to where people weren't present or don't remember historic events.

It's hard though...especially when I got my neighbor playing their franchise across the street...maybe I will occupy myself with Glamore Magazine.
