One place I fish at regularly has one which is over 13 foot. My kayak is 12 foot and she is a good foot and half longer than the kayak. I spooked her once when I was fishing some tall reeds and she must of been chilling in the grass. The explosion of water plus seeing the sheer size of her bolt under me was quite incredible. Its hard to comprehend that kind of size unless you are close to it.
I've seen a full size labrador retriever get taken once while duck hunting. Dog went out to retrieve a bird in the marsh, heard loud yelp, seen the dog get yanked at tremendous speed under the water, then bunch of bubbles but no dog returned to the surface.
Similar to this (Don't judge the tourist luring it in, they should of lured the whole litter. Texas and Louisiana has a major MAJOR feral pig problem)

Perfect primitive killer!

I can blame my paternal grandfather for my obsession with maps. When I was growing up he would always be quizzing me on geography every time I saw him and as such I would always be studying my globe and atlas to be ready for his questions.
