I just saw the National Guard with some Humvees and APC with a plow go by. Lol.

My friend works as a EMS driver and apparently she said they had to call because they are stuck at the center. Their center also is running low on food.

You have to discover what the root cause of the anxiety is, figure out what triggers the anxiety and just work to overcome it. Realize that it's not that bad.

Sure you can go to a Doctor and get medications. However that will work in the short term but you will always need the medication.

It could stem from Diet, over using stimulants. If you're naturally a jittery person 8 cups of Coffee a day won't help.

For me personally I used to have a terribly crippling Social Anxiety disorder when I was younger. (high school age) Just going outside into public would cause me to panic, and tremble. Eventually I had to realize that the majority of people are not out there to judge you, and they are too concerned with their own lives to really even care about what you do; and if someone does judge you for something like the way you dress, or your hairstyle? In the end who really cares? There will always be people who won't like you for whatever reason can't change that.

You just have to find out whatever your personal trigger is and work to overcome it. Going to have to be mentally tough but it is possible.

You have to understand that most people with irrational fears/anxiety are aware of the irrational fears/anxiety but still experience them no matter what, it's not as simple as being "mentally tough", which is a huge pet peeve of mine btw, you're basically saying anxiety is a weakness

Ya, HS sucks for those reasons. The day i stopped caring what anyone thought of me, it made everything more enjoyable. People try so hard trying to fit in and get others to like them.

Me, if people dont like who i am, too bad for them, i dont care. Self confidence obviously a big thing. Just be happy with who you are. For me at least, I'd rather be real with them instead of trying to hide things about me, wondering what people might think if they found out. Living with that HS mentality hurt me lots, but once i ditched that, as cheesy as it sounds, feels like I've grown so much in short period of time

Depends on person obviously. Easy for some to just brush things off, hard for others.

Yes I had anxiety pretty severely, and no longer consider myself to have it. I'm not saying anyone is weak but rather it takes courage to overcome anxiety.

Stress response is not in itself a bad thing. It is a primal Defense mechanism that keeps us alive. Basically if I remember right when faced with acute stress, our Brains (particularly the Hypothalmus) sends out a signal to your adrenal glands that you're in danger; and the adrenals start pumping out hormones Epinephrine (Adrenaline) and Cortisol. Which heighten our senses, increase heartbeat, speed up breathing, constrict blood vessels, tunnel vision.

This is a natural response for survival because in our ancestors times the causes of this stress response was usually the threat of a wild Lion, Bear, or warring clan coming after you with spears. Now in modern times the cause of stress can range from anything from debt, job stress, a boss, social disorders. It's compounded a lot of times by poor lifestyle habits. Poor sleep, diet, smoking. Because eventually you're body is supposed to shut off that "fight or flight" response and normalize.

The day I realized that it was basically just a hormonal dysfunction of my adrenals being taxed from over producing cortisol. Was the day I realized I was in control and started taking steps to fixing my anxiety. Changed my diet, started exercising, focused on getting better quality sleep, finding the triggers of my stress and being pro-active about not letting myself worry about them constantly and over time I found my anxiety lessened, and eventually I no longer had it and could go out and converse, and talk to people without feeling awkward.

Is it easy? No, and everyone's situation is different; but I absolutely believe with a proper understanding of the situation one can work to overcome anxiety.
