Re: Off Topic 2016: Instrumental Waltz 83
What age were people here when Pokemon/Digimon first came out in North America? From what I saw, basically anyone under the age of 10 when it first came out(1998 for the Pokemon game and tv show in North America,99 for Digimon), knew about it and liked it.Comment

But still, if you cancel the reservation, shouldn't that make the update not come back once you do delete it?Comment

Re: Off Topic 2016: Instrumental Waltz 83
As much as I liked Pokemon in the 90s and all, it got harder for me to keep up with it when they kept releasing new games on new systems. I had the original gameboy, so I had pokemon red. Then not too long after, gameboy color came out and they had gold/silver. Then gameboy advance with multiple games and so on.
Not to mention I really hated the S1 ending and start of S2 whenSpoilerAsh/Pikachu lost, and S2 had Brock leave
Digimon on the other hand, I liked all the way through to S3. S1 easily was the best one,but it's a shame that Digimon wasn't as big as Pokemon.Comment

I was 11 in 98 and it was a deal in 6th grade. They banned Pokemon trading cards because it was so popular but going into Jr High things changed as it was considered more of a children's game.MLB: Texas Rangers
Soccer: FC Dallas, Fleetwood Town
NCAA: SMU, UTA
NFL: Dallas Cowboys
NHL: Dallas Stars
NBA: Dallas Mavericks

Thanks for the rundown. Nice summary. New jobs killing my time. Much more cooking here than my last place. Much much more.Originally posted by Anthony BourdainThe celebrity chef culture is a remarkable and admittedly annoying phenomenon. Of all the professions, after all, few people are less suited to be suddenly thrown into the public eye than chefs. We're used to doing what we do in private, behind closed doors.Comment

Re: Off Topic 2016: Instrumental Waltz 83
Stupid thing when a teacher caught you with a gameboy during recess, and taking it,and only way you could get it back was the teacher calling your parents to say you got in trouble at school. They made it seem like you had it in class or something, and you were selling drugs lol. It was just a pokemon game on gameboy. You brought it to school to play, and use your friends link cable to trade pokemon!
Though that also lead to some teachers being the "cool teacher" who'd let kids bring gameboys to class for freetime. Or people just going to the furthest part of the playground to play the game,so if they spotted a teacher coming their direction, they could hide it quickly.Last edited by Majingir; 02-02-2016, 03:59 PM.Comment
