Holidays should be on Monday or Friday. Nothing worse than a holiday like 4th of July falling on a Wednesday.F-L-O-R-I-D-A! S-T-A-T-E! Florida State! Florida State! Florida State! Wooooo!Comment

I would be ok with holidays falling on a Wednesday. Just take a couple vacation days and have a 5 day weekend. The worst is when the holiday is on a weekend and your ******* company doesn't give you an extra day off. I came across this a couple times but at least they pay holiday pay on top of your normal hours.Comment

3 years later...It's happening!
Probably has no shot in hell, but I would be absolutely in favor of this specific change.

But something like Halloween where the most special part of it is for kids, it would be nice to change it. I'd prefer a Friday night so that the kids could still have their parties at school, and any fun jobs could have mini office Halloween party too. But then friday night where the kids can stay up later, they can go trick or treating.Comment

Halloween isn’t a holiday anyway.
But I can get behind it being on a Saturday night.
Last Saturday of October.
The rest though??
Leave them be.
Once you start messing with dates and changing them, then the holiday “loses something”.Comment

Halloween is very much a holiday. The general population may not celebrate as it was originally intended, but it is certainly a holiday.

I dont know, I feel like somewhere either a state or a significant amount of companies or schools need to give their people the day off (paid if employees) before its considered a holiday.OSFM23 - Building Better Baseball - OSFM23

There are a plenty of holidays that aren't given paid time off.

Holidays aren't just about work. It's just a day celebrating some event or happening. A day becomes a holiday when society accepts it's one, regardless of if a business gives PTO for it.Comment

Oh, its definitely just my own view of Halloween. I lump it in with Mothers day, Fathers day, Valentine day and St. Patricks day, Groundhog day, April Fools day. Just my view of it, definitely not selling it as fact lolOSFM23 - Building Better Baseball - OSFM23

Halloween is a religious holiday and when I lived in New Mexico we actually did get All Souls’ Day off from school.Comment
