    Frustrating

I find it completely assinine that a certain owner of a certain site is banning people based on politics and then blatently lying about the banned person. (Not to mention citing reasons which can be used ten-fold for one of his mods.) I'm not naming names or sites as i've emailed the guy (who doesn't have the guts to respond) and told him I wouldn't run around trashing him like others have done. The sad thing is that a thread was made regarding it and other than his mods and one or two other people, everyone else was in support of keeping the banned person around. (Despite his assertion that the majority of the community wanted the ban.) Let me ask you guys over here something...Is it worth dumping one member who the minority doesn't like (and is a firmly entrenched top 10 member) just to add 100 members whom of which only 2 or 3 may end up hanging around longer than the release week of Madden? I guess that's what you get for getting caught up in a community run by a liberal english idiot.

    Re: Frustrating

I don't think so. If the poster is constantly causing problems and violating the TOS, I don't care who you are, you get thrown in the box for a while or banned. There are a lot of guys on here who have been around on OS a lot longer than me that I hope will chime in. In fact, there is a thread over in Steve's Forum about the OS Graveyard.

To answer your question: Yes (tho I wouldn't add 100 other folks just for the sake of letting them in)

I can give you a good example of this, DonovanMD was a great poster here. He made fast friends with a lot of people however he grated the nerves of the moderators. Nonetheless he was still around until he started goofing around with the star system we used to have. He started up another nickname just so he can downgrade people he felt were against him. That was a childish move and one that is against the TOS. You're told explicitly NOT to create more than one nickname.

Thus he was banned. I still miss his posts but that's the way it goes. This isn't the real world and you have to respect the rules and wishes of those who operate said site as it's being paid by them.

It doesn't matter if your post is 15,000 or 50 if you violate the TOS you will get banned and that's how it should be.

The majority of the time the mods will give you a warning first and then if you continue to violate TOS you get the boot.

The funny thing is that once people get banned they come back under a different name but they KEEP THE SAME POSTING STYLE thus exposing themselves and getting banned again.

Actually there was a bit of a flame war between the mod I mentioned (who flames just about everyone, esspecially the newbies) and I which resulted in a warning to both of us. Since then the only thing remotely close to a TOS violation was complaining about censorship when said English idiot declared a ban on political talk and I got a tempban just for posting that I voted and what I saw...talking about the process not the politics of it. He got bent that Kerry lost and that I posted in my custom avatar about censorship and that I was taking a break. The guy PMed me which I read and was taking a day to respond and when I did, the ban was already placed. Then he goes and talks trash about me not responded yet the idiot won't respond to the last two emails I sent asking for an explanation.
