I did a career assessment with the State of Ohio and....

I meant to post this a while back but had forgot to but here goes. When I was unemployed in 2016 briefly as part of my terms for receiving unemployment from the state of Ohio I was required to do a career assessment where they give you this big, long test full of questions about your skills and what you like to do and in the end they give you 3 possible careers.

It's made to basically help you maybe think about where you are at and what you should be thinking about may be where you are heading. So I go through the rather lengthy test and answer all the questions the best that I could and when I get to the end it says my ideal career is.........

VIDEOGAME ARTIST! that's right! And the pay was nice too, for starting pay here in Ohio it was $65,000.

Second and third choices were what I actually do for a living, telecommunications engineer and ethernet LAN/WAN network designer.

Anyways, I thought that was really awesome that the test spit that out because I really would love to do that for a living but I somehow never got to go down that road. My dream job: Work for EA Sports or on the Blizzard Diablo team doing art and/or game design.

I actually have applied for at both places, EA Sports and Blizzard. The closest I ever came to going down that road was back in 2007 when I was actually hired to work for EA Sports on Madden as a game tester (entry level) but when they found out I was not in Florida (I was in Austin at the time) and would have to move down there they reneged on the offer.

Who knows what I would be doing now if I had landed that job.

Has anyone else here ever taken a career assessment test and, if so, what were your results?

Nah, I've never taken one. They sound interesting though.
