    re: Off-Topic

I'm going to cut my sugar intake this year. The past year I've drank more soda than I have in my entire life. Having a baby made me turn to that for caffeine. Coffee gives me an upset stomach if I drink too much so I am going to look towards tea for that.

Just sugar in general from soda and fast food needs to go from my diet.

          I'm so ready for Spring/Summer.

          Sick of this cold weather.

I need to ditch soda too. It's so hard though.

I gave up regular soda drinking years ago. I mostly drink water or juice. Once in a while I like a glass of ginger ale. It's surprising how much weight you will drop once you stop.

Those Ice drinks are shockingly flavorful and have nothing in them besides green tea extract. They are very carbonated from my experience, seemingly more then a soda. There are store brand versions too.

Oh.. apparently there’s some sugar alternative added to these that supposedly makes them more unhealthy. Well damn.

                      Same here

I am doing better at drinking more water. I like to add those water flavoring to them.

or the sugar companies are running a smear campaign against sugar alternatives!

I can't remember last time I actually drank black soft drinks(meaning coke or Pepsi). Though other ones like the clear lemon/lime ones I still occasionally drink. 2-3 a month at most. I think sprite/7up are supposed to be a slightly less harmful soft drink.

On topic of things to cut down on, Christmas cookies. I hate when people get me them. I'll never go out and buy cookies or really any sugary snacks either(rare exceptions here on snack part), but if/when people get some for me, I'll eat them. The whole "out of sight, out of mind" stuff. So much piled up, someone better come along and take it off my hands cause I really don't wanna keep unhealthy things I know I'll eat over it going to waste. The moment it's gone, I'm fine, go back to eating non sugary snacks. Just takes forever to get to that stage.

That's it, next Christmas I'm giving everyone a return to sender box of their gifts lol.

One of the best things I did three or so years ago was to drop soda. I'll have the occasional Sprite if I'm at a restaurant or somewhere that it's the only choice, but replacing it with water has helped big time.

Why not take the cookies to a nearby homeless shelter?

Don't these places just take things like canned goods, especially because of their long expiration dates? Boxes of chocolates and cookies expire by the summer for latest. If some places actually do take things like that, then that's a different story.
