    Gaming with your kids

    Hey Guys,

So I have a 5 year old Gamer--- hes going hard in Horizon Zero dawn, and hes super into youtube, so we have sort of a common nerdgasm moment any time Anthem news comes out. I mean dude just straight will fabricate news if we dont hear anythign for a while as if he heard something...so hes super geeked, and to be honest Im geeked about the game, but more-so, looking forward to really having our first gaming experience together where we go online together and do our thing.

The question I have is those of you who have kids who game, is it really going to be a situation where I need to buy him his own copy of the game, so any time we want to go online together we need 2 consoles, and 2 copies of the game?

Im just looking down the pipe and its like any time an awesome online/copop game comes out I need to drop a buck fifty just so we both can play, or is there a work around? I just never really thought of it. Hes my oldest, and I have 2 sons right behind him, this thing might get a bit nuts after a while to be honest.

I THINK (but not 100% sure) with Xbox you can use the Family aspect, have him play on your Home xbox and you play on the other one logged in as you (any account can use your digital games on the Home xbox, and then your account can play on the other one). For discs you'd obviously need 2. Not sure how it works as you get more lol.

My son's 4 and not quite patient enough for games yet...he has to learn a bit of self control/impulse control before I let him go....hopefully soon

Im curious if this would work. My wife and I like playing co-op games, but way too many are just online co-op and not couch co-op.

It would on Xbox. I know I can be logged in on our bedroom one, and she's logged into the living room and have access to everything installed on that Xbox. Doesn't work for her playing in the bedroom though I think...

It'd be cool if you could have a real family all share digital completely, but I get how non-families would end up abusing it.

So with Far Cry 5, we'd need just one copy?

Yeah, I'd give it a shot. It'd have to be digital, but yes. Other person play on home xbox, owner of content sign in as owner on other xbox. Maybe try with something else you own first before buying lol

No. In my case i created a gamertag for my wife, so on the "home" xbox she uses her gamertag. On the other one I use mine. In theory we can both use the games and be online. I haven't really tested it much (we don't do that type of gaming), but i can see doing it more with my son as he gets older.
