Re: Christmas Thread 2019 “Hallmark Style”

I've been getting my baby nephew (he's now 2.5 years old but whatever) Topps baseball card collections for Christmas every year, among things that he'll actually use/play with/know what to do with. Regardless, in comes the third straight year that he's getting it, so now he'll have 2100 cards before the age of three lol!

I sure hope he becomes a diehard baseball fan, and if not then I'll gladly take them off his hands.

The original set in 2017 didn't come with a Cody Bellinger, so I individually bought a rookie card for that one. Bold strategy that paid off, guy got NL MVP last year heh. This year I did the same with a Vlad Jr. card, and bought some other small packs in hope I can claim some of the other rookies that entered later this past season.

Anyway, I'm getting him that, a wiffle bat/ball/tee set, a little toy ukulele (I think it has actual playable strings though which is cool), and this expansion pack for this interactive desk thing so he can learn about a **** load of other things. This kid really loves learning so far, it's adorable.

This will be the first year that he really feels out/understands the concept of opening Christmas presents and such, I can feel it.

Re: Christmas Thread 2019 “Hallmark Style”

A Christmas themed grind my gears.

People who want to buy specific things so close to Christmas and then getting mad/surprised that it's either out of stock or will just take too long to ship.

They do realize they're not the only person looking for that item? And that most of these delivery companies aren't sitting around waiting for every individual order to come in and deliver it to people the day after they order.

I've read comments from people like "I ordered on Friday and see that it won't arrive before Christmas!". Fully ignoring the fact that many sites will say "Order by December __(usually before the 16th or so)" to guarantee Christmas delivery.

How do some of these people function? If you honestly think you can walk into a store days before Christmas and expect to see a full stock on every item, or think if you order on Friday and will get it delivered by Monday(Amazon Prime delivery being the exception), then you need to set some big new years resolutions for yourself.

The best part in that episode is when Kruger greets Kramer as Dr. Van Nostrand lol.

              Something I've been thinking about.

Is it possible to make a new Christmas classic?

Think about it, Rudolph,Frosty,Grinch,Charlie Brown TV specials were all from the 60s.

Sure, we've had popular specials since then, but it doesn't feel like those ones get as much notoriety compared to those classics.

The only modern one I can think of that gets some special love is Polar Express. And that was based off a popular Christmas book.

                    2 more sleeps.

                    Classics are possible.

                    Polar Express
                    Elf
                    Christmas Story
                    National Lampoon’s Christmas
                    Miracle on 34th Street (Remake)

I think these maybe older than some members, but I consider them new classics compared to A White Christmas. It’s all from one’s point of view.

and with new classics come new traditions.

                        Happy Festivus.

One of the modern day things I hate about this time of the year, Christmas photos.

Obviously they've been a thing forever, but more so now I find that Christmas pics are getting overly annoying. Too many people caring about every little detail in the pic so thsy can post online and compete with friends for likes.

I'm sorry, I thought you asked me to take a picture. Why is this turning into a 15 minute long Instagram photo session where the lighting needs adjusting, the room needs to be altered, furniture moved, me having to move all around to get such specific angles and all that.

did you take a look at this picture carefully? because I'm not sure, and correct me if I'm wrong, but I think I see...
