Started 2020 with a 2.5-mile walk with the wife and dog, and followed that up with a 20-mile bike ride (yep, had the day off from work).

In 2020, I am aiming to:
    -Run two half-marathons
-Ride in a gravel bike event (up to 100 miles)
-Maintain consistency in my workout schedule

Starting 2020 off on the right foot. my marathon 12 hour session on the PS4 morphed seamlessly into a four scrambled egg, two fried egg, bacon-o-rama sausage fest at the local Waffle House. this is all prepatory training for my annual hike through the Great Smoky Mountains in 15 days. probably wouldnt have hurt to pocket some of today's bacon in case I come across any bears. when I started this annual hike some 8 or 9 years ago, I had went into one of the local stores in Pigeon Forge planning on carrying pepper spray with me but the guy working there told me pepper spray only makes'em madder. so now I just trek it freestyle live without a net. I wish I could do it again every summer also but I'm positive I'd run into Yogi & Boo-Boo at that time of year. I'd say my annual trek is more adventure than fitness though. but since I do this every MLK weekend, that message inspired me; I have a dream when I retire I will trek the whole of the Appalachia in 6 months. 18 years to go.

Like usual got lazy the last month of the year. Wife and I started "80 day obsession" from beachbody on demand. It's a "3/4" difficulty" so I think I'm going to do the first month. Then I had a p90x2/Max30 hybrid I've been looking to do that I'll transition into.

This time last year my wife and I tried couch to 5K. We both realized despite our best efforts we hate long running. I do love sprinting though and moved a block over from a public track. So I think once it warms up some I'll add in a sprint routine. I really don't think anything beats straight up sprinting for a cardio workout.

We also do dry January so no alcohol for the first month of the year.

Yea I'm not a fan of long running either. If I'm running it involves intervals.

It's been a rough end of 2018 and entire 2019 with the fitness journey. I went from 195 to 235. WOOF!

Just had a few job changes and now finally settled in. I'm two for two this year with work outs this year LOL and also had a body scan.. That scan, WOOF.

Goal is to drop 35 pounds by April 1st. Then down to 185 in due time.

I started off the year with the flu. I was out of work last week from NYE through Friday. Didn't work out for 5 days and started getting my appetite back yesterday. At least that is out of the way.

So far in 2020, I've walked 10 miles, run 8 and biked 20. Averaging just under 10k steps a day. I'm trying to get out for 1-2 miles of walking a day at work on the days I'm not running or cycling.

Happy New Year and wishing everyone good health.

Haven't worked out in 2+ weeks but will get back on the wagon today or tomorrow. I hate how crowded the gyms are in Jan-Feb, but more motivation to stick with it, I guess, since if you make it to March, it starts to thin out noticeably.

Not sure on goals for this year, but will get back into the swing of things and see how it goes....

A new gym just opened up about a mile from my house. It's about half the cost of the Y, which is where I was going. So I made the switch yesterday. A little weird for me being excited about going to the gym.

I slacked off a little during the fall, and a lot during the holidays. I'm starting 2020 in better shape than I started 2019, but I have some work to do to get caught up again.

Set up my indoor bike trainer today. Needed to do something with the bad weather and we've got at least 2 more months of it ahead, so I can hop on the trainer and ride several times a week.

Down 10 pounds and 15 straight days at the gym. Just doing a basic routine I did years ago, 30 mins of strength training and 30 mins of cardio.

Apple Watch was the best thing my best friend talked me into. Keeps me motivated seeing results and seeing others workouts etc via shared option.

I can vouch for the apple watch. I usually compete with my friends using it. Any extra motivation helps!

What exactly does the Apple Watch or fitness devices in general track? I don't do walking or running cardio, but I do workout fairly often. Usually they have a range of calories burned, but it would be nice to get a more accurate read if possible. Plus, heart-rate, etc.

Anyway, nice work Fiddy. Be sure and rest sometime, though.
