I was just coming in to post something about Christmas. LOL. On October 22, 2023 The Hallmark movies will start on The W Network. That's where they show them up here, I think there is a Hallmark Channel for my American friends.

I have already started my Christmas shopping and I am looking forward to the beginning of the Christmas Season...November 1st.

On one of my fantasy football teams I drafted both Jalen Hurts and Nick Chubb, so appropriately I named my team My Chubb Hurts.

Who knew I was foreshadowing Chubb's season-ending injury in the process?

I had zero clue that that was the same guy who was in those old shows from the 1960s.

It's wild when someone has that long of a career, and they are so well known as two different characters at vastly different ages. It's the same with Richard Attenborough. He is so well known as John Hammond in Jurassic Park, but had roles in the 1950s-1960s that were super well known too.

And he's probably just as known (if not more known) for playing "Kris Kringle" in Miracle on 34th Street (having this be one of the movies that gets played every Christmas is a big part of it too).

I wonder how many people are like that, where it's basically like "I'll guess your age based on how you most remember ___" because that person could be remembered as 2 or 3 different characters based on the generation you ask.

OK, this is for MLB The Show players. Are there any other sports games that can provide a decent sim gameplay experience with sliders? I finally got a PS5 and I haven't played anything but The Show and F1 for years.

I also play Hunter: Call of the Wild, but haven't for quite a while. And I played RDR2, but that's been a while as well.

I guess asking about sports games isn't really off topic for this forum, LOL. I might ask this in The Show sub (where it's slightly off topic, but not entirely).

I'm thinking about getting Madden for the first time in a while, but I've seen reviews saying it's too animation driven, feels scripted, etc. But then I think...maybe as a sim gamer that would actually appeal to me? I want to make the decisions and have a minor hand in carrying them out, but I want the results to be mostly attribute driven. The CPU vs. CPU footage I've seen looks really nice. Meanwhile, NBA2K gameplay always looks so sluggish and awkward to me.

Anyway, off topic: my area was conquered by the infamous spotted lanternfly this summer. Be warned, midwest: they're coming for you in the next few years.

I hate to answer your question this way, but in my opinion? No. I can't think of one other sports game (and for the most part there is only 1 per sport) that provides what I personally would consider a good sim gameplay experience. I'm down to just "The Show" for sim sports games (although "The Show" irritates the living bejeezus out of me at times where I have to take a break from it, but usually for reasons like I have weeks at a time where I can't hit for crap).

I was faintly hoping EA's PGA Tour game would provide something approximating a sim golf experience, but it's about as much of a golf sim as "Golden Tee Golf" in my opinion. Maybe less so, actually.
