Homemade root beer floats...do you put the ice cream or the root beer in first?

And, bonus Q, does the size/shape of the container affect your method?

I may just not know any better but ice cream first, then rootbeer. the real question in my mind is which rootbeer. My favorite rootbeer just by itself is IBC but the best rootbeer for float is A&W. Barq's has that great bite but since it has caffeine I'm still at odds with myself if it is a true rootbeer. I dont know what good Mug rootbeer is for, unless its for when you cant get A&W for your float. I refuse to drink it by itself but with ice cream its tolerable, barely.

Until next time, Christmas vacation over for many(and some already went back and/or were never off).

Now I'm just hoping Spring arrives earlier than usual. The Janaury-February stretch where theres no days off and weather gets worse is depressing.

March is when things pick back up again.

paid holiday coming up: MLK 3 day weekend, 2 weeks away
for me personally, I hate the long period between Independence Day & Labor Day (U.S., July 4 to first September Monday) with the too many unbearable hot dog days. I guess this is why so many people vacay that time of year, but its a really busy period of work for me so unless I'm sick, at most I'll only take a half day off during the stretch. thank the Maker that is a long way off.

luckily I always remember my boss is already ****** himself, so me telling him to do so is redundant. also, I prefer not to get into an argument with a brick wall.

People take vacation then because it's warmer so you can enjoy the outdoors more. And for those with kids, that's when they're off. Although I wonder when people living in warm climates go on vacation. Does it matter as much to them if they go in July vs October?


To me, the summer is more bearable because its warmer and you have more daylight. Wake up with sunlight, come home in sunlight. Although here, we have made up holidays. February and August have 2 completely pointless days off which some get and some don't. I'd trade the pointless August one for November 11th being a national holiday.

360 days until this thread is closed. Might be a small chance we can steer the conversation off-topic and away from countdowns. otherwise, tomorrow will be 359 days till new thread and maybe countdowns will be banned next year. If not February 2nd is just around the corner. I think if a groundhog sees his shadow, 1 of 2 things happen. A) every time a groundhog sees his shadow, an angel gets his wings. Or b) everytime Bill Murray is in a movie with a groundhog I lose my train of thought and cant remember where I was going with this. So how many days until the final countdown?
