 Re: Off-Topic

reminds me of the time I was drinking a Steel Reserve while tossing the ball around with my dog, and of course tossed the ball off target and knocked over the the beer, my little dog was all over the spillage, but he's tiny and there's no way his system can handle 8% beer!

i got him out of there quickly, but really? is my dog's palate worse than mine? he really liked it? I only drink it for the quick buzz, dogs will eat/drink anythingWolverines Wings Same Old Lions Tigers Pistons Erika ChristensenComment

One time I got a medium meat lovers pizza delivered from Pizza Hut and I set it on the coffee table and went to the bathroom and when I came out my dog had eaten 3/4 of the pizza.reminds me of the time I was drinking a Steel Reserve while tossing the ball around with my dog, and of course tossed the ball off target and knocked over the the beer, my little dog was all over the spillage, but he's tiny and there's no way his system can handle 8% beer!

Isn't that what we already have? Albeit starting on the 20th or 21st of the first seasonal month...

Maybe we just need to shift the calendar by 3 weeks. Comment

 Re: Off-Topic

Probably is. I admit I've never cared enough to look into it, haha. I've just always heard the meteorologists hype that middle of June "first day of summer!" and I just think...why?

I'm sure there's some actual reason for it that I've never looked into.Comment

 Re: Off-Topic

Yup, it’s the solstices and equinoxes.

Myself, my sister, and my father were born on the first days of summer, spring, and fall (respectively) of our birth years, all on the 21st. They’re quite easy for me to remember because of that, haha.

 That being said, I naturally assumed that everyone knew when the seasons always changed hands, but now I’m realizing others may not have a reason to need to know or catch wind of it in the first place.Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment

Well, it's not always the 21st, sometimes it's the 20th or 22nd. Still pretty cool though.Yup, it’s the solstices and equinoxes.

Kinda of reminds me of my 2 nephews. The older one was born on the same day of the month (23rd) as his mom (my sister) but 7 months before/5 after while my younger nephew was born on the same day of the month (10th) as mine and my sister's mom but 6 months before/after. I told her if she has another kid they will be born on the same day of the month as either our dad or me but 5 months before/7 months after.Steelers : IX, X, XIII, XIV, XL, XLIII

I’ll say in my case it’s info I'm absolutely sure I learned 20+ years ago but never really used enough to have a reason to commit it to memory long-term.Yup, it’s the solstices and equinoxes.

One of those things where the basic idea all sounds vaguely familiar, but I couldn’t tell you the details of now without Google jogging my memory on it.Comment

apologies for going off-topic but, while I'm normally a Golden Flakes guy when it comes to dill pickle potato chips, lately I've been on a Zapp's New Orleans Kettle style Cajun dill gator-tators. if your dill-pickley enough for the dill pickle club, I highly recommendOSFM23 - Building Better Baseball - OSFM23
