Thank you everyone for the well wishes.

The results came back and the diagnosis was that the mass is benign. Not entirely sure why it formed or exactly what caused it, but the most important thing is that it isn't cancerous.

Now the focus will turn to getting rid of the kidney stones that I have an likely surgery to remove the mass. First and foremost though, they need to get this infection under control as my Doctor stated that my infection is severe and hinted at me being admitted to hospital for treatment, but I'm avoiding that as best I can.

Right now I'm taking antibiotics and will follow up with him again in a week.

Glad to hear it was benign. Reading your post made me think back how lucky I was.

I've had a ton of kidney stones and back in 2016 they saw a mass on my right kidney. It wasn't big, 3cm I think, but it was solid. The plan was to have robotic surgery to cut it out but there was a chance if it was deeper in my kidney wall or if they saw dead tissue, they would have to open me up and either remove part or the whole kidney. They went in and only had to remove the mass and a tiny bit of tissue. They called it a partial right nephrectomy. The mass was cancerous but was caught at the early stage and did not spread. Since they did it robotically, I have 5 small incisions on my stomach and side. I had to have the kidney stones removed before they did the procedure too.

It was weird while laying on the table and seeing what looked like 2 joysticks next to me where the doctor controlled everything.

Good luck to you. Everything turned out fine and it was a simple procedure.

I am waiting on exact date and time, but I will have surgery next week to remove the mass.
