I must've started visiting OS from the very beginning. I can't remember exactly how long it's been, but I do know it's WAY before my forum posted signup date of December 2002. Before finding this site, I'd get all of my sports gaming info from Digital Sports Page. Those guys still do a great job, as do the folks here at OS.
As for WHY I came here? Sliders, of course! The downfall in sports gaming, in my opinion!
What made you decide to donate to Operation Sports?
It just seemed like a good thing to do. I realize that most, if not all of the people who work for OS do it simply, as a hobby. It's not paying anyone's bills, put it that way. It's the least I could do to show my
appreciation for a website that has become THE place I go to when looking for information regarding my favorite genre of video games, sports games.
Another reason I donated, honestly, was because of the "Everything Else" forum. It's really become my favorite section of the OS boards. Thanks to the awesome community here at OS, I'm never at a loss when helping to do show prep for this morning radio show I help produce. All I have to do is visit the "Everything Else" section and I'm bound to find SOMETHING there to talk about on-air.
Your favorite Sports Teams?
Does Gene Snitsky count as a sports team? If not, he should be, and it wouldn't be his fault either!
Seriously, my favorite sports teams have a wide range. In baseball, it's the Oakland A's, merely because that's the first team I ever saw play in person, back in 1990. In pro football, it's the Buffalo Bills. My dad made sure of that. Pro hoops, it'd be the Charlotte Bobcats. Yes, my heart was broken when my Hornets moved to New Orleans. College sports, it's the UNC Tar Heels and the UNC-Wilmington Seahawks (my alma-mater).
What are your hobbies?
Well, besides the obvious (sports and video games), I really enjoy learning more about the history of my chosen career. I work in radio, and when you really get into the history of it and some of the big names of years gone by, it's quite interesting. I also enjoy keeping up with the industry news and what not.
Tell us about about your family.
Well, let's see. I'm 27 years old. My mom lives in Charlotte, about 3 hours away. My father passed away when I was in high school. My younger
brother (age 21) lives out in Northern California, working as a chef in a 4-star restaurant.
As I've recently posted in, what else, the "Everything Else" forum, I've just purchased an engagement ring for my girlfriend of just over a year, Aimee. I would imagine we'll probably plan a wedding date sometime in the summer of 2006, so I still have a little more than a year left of being a bachelor!<!-- / message --><!-- sig -->
