    Interview with Squint

How long have you been reading Operations Sports and what brought you here?

I officially joined the site in July of 2003 shortly after I returned from Iraq the first time. I do seem to remember lurking in 2002 off and on though. I first came to OS for after-market rosters and sliders, but I ended up sticking around for the sports conversations, debates, and opinions.

What made you decide to donate to Operation Sports?

You mean other than the fact that it is the "cool" thing to do? Seriously, I've wanted to donate for awhile now, but between deployments to Iraq and a recent cross-country move I just never found the time. Just recently though I put out a request for a graphic designer relating to a small business logo and P2K offered his services (he'll be compensated). I realized just how good a community OS has built and figured I'd do my part to help ease it along.

    Your favorite Sports Teams?

I went to Junior High and High School in a suburb of Sacramento during the 49ers run in the 80's so I've always been partial to them. However, after living in San Diego for the last 12 years I've grown to following the Chargers and Padres. San Diego is a great city with great fans and both of their major sports franchises are now the closest thing to what I would call a favorite in their respective sports. I'd say that I'm a fan of sports as a whole, and while I do have teams that I tend to lean towards more than others, I try to be a fan of the game.

    What are your hobbies?

Mountain biking, playing any sport I can, poker nights, and of course -- video games.

    Tell us about your family?

I have a beautiful wife and four year-old son that can beat me in Halo 2. My wife has recently started her own business and it seems to be going well. They are my strength, heart, and soul and drive me to live life to its fullest.

I second that. I've got a lot of respect for all the guys/gals in the military.

I used to not know how to react when someone thanked me for my service, but after stepping back and thinking about the Christmas's, Birthday's, and every other important day my family and I have been separated for, I learned to simply smile and say.......you're welcome.
