Re: Annual OS Christmas Thread 2024

    1 DAY!!! 1 day to go...HOWWWWW?

Crazy how fast the season flies by.

I've cleared the drive way of snow! We are having a White Christmas. I'm going to take a picture tonight of the house...if I remember.

I've also cleaned the bathrooms (4 in total) and now I'm going to vacuum the entire house. My wife is baking like a mad woman this morning and the kids are now baking gingerbread cookies with her.

I hope you guys are enjoying you Christmas Eve Day and that for those of you who are having a hard time this season, please remember there are people who care about you. For those who loss a love one this year, I cannot imagine the pain you are going through, but please hold this close to your heart...they would want you to have the best Christmas and that they would only ask that you think of them this season.

    Side Note:

Tonight our Elves leave for the North Pole!!!!
I am the lesson after the fall.

Merry Christmas from the Philippines! Played some games with the kids and had fun playing uno, hungry hippos, building legos and helping my daughter understand Pokémon cards.

Got hooked up with a iPad mini 7 and a gamesir g8 plus controller. What a nice handheld setup for gaming

This is so well put together. Too bad it's not real, but would be so cool if they ever did make a new version one day.

            Officially midnight here, merry Christmas!

The month leading up to Christmas seems like it lasts so long, but then the days right before go so fast.

                    Merry Christmas gentlemen,

The kids are in bed and I'm about to go tidy up downstairs. There are toys everywhere and we just brought in another haul of toys and gifts from my parents and sisters and their families.

I'm going to enjoy the last few hours of Christmas with my lovely wife. Sleep will come easy tonight.

Another Christmas winding down, sucks that this time of the year goes by so fast which leads in to the depressingly slow January we usually experience.

I'm still enjoy the post Christmas activities. Kids are playing with their toys and I'm just about to make a turkey sandwich and watch the Canadian Junior's play this evening at 7:30pm.

While Christmas day itself is kind of for the kids, the entire season is really where it's at. The lead-up mostly, but also the denouement and the semi-official end to the season on New Year's day. It's all good as long as you don't have to go to work!

I couldn't agree more. I use to get down after Christmas, but I learned to love the time after Christmas. When I was still teaching, I loved the time after Christmas before I had to go back to work. Now with being "retired", I get to enjoy all of the Christmas season. It is crazy how fast it goes and ever since having kids, I have found that the season flies by.

That's the thing, work is what kills the excitement. Leading up to Christmas you're just focused on Christmas/vacation and all that, but once it's time for work again, everything you've looked forward to the last little while came and went and now it's back to "reality" for the next few months with cold weather and no days off.

Yeah, it's brutal knowing you've gotta get back to the grind (especially the last day or two before work starts up again). Then there's nothing to look forward to but longer days and the eventual arrival or warm weather (!).

                                Then it starts all over...
