    HDTV?

I saw this post and was all set to respond until I saw it was locked: http://forums.operationsports.com/vB...d.php?t=135457

I understand the rationale here but there are 45 pages in that post...#1, who's going to read all that, #2 who's going to read it everytime there's a new post?

We have posts monthly, weekly and even sometimes daily posts about MP3 players, who's watching what movie, who's met what celebrity, who thinks who is hot, etc. If OS allows members to start new topics for those then why must there be one huge HD thread? Also, then why not just make one master MP3 player post...one big who's hot post, etc.

    Re: HDTV?

IMO keeping all of the HD threads together makes it easier to research HDTVs. If I want to buy an HDTV I can go into the thread and read everything ever posted about it on OS, rather then have to search through the entire EE forum.

    Just MO.

        Re: HDTV?

I don't have any questions....I was trying to help someone else out but to be honest I don't have the patience to keep up with a 900 post thread....plus, I don't look at the sticky's.

No one answered my question though....if you're going to force people with any questions about HDTVs to post in that one thread why not make one thread about all the popular topics and force people to post in that?

I don't think this is going to change.

If someone asks a question, it should go in the sticky. They only have to look for replies to their question then and don't have to scroll through many pages.

Not all popular topics need to be stickied. Just the popular one's that have longevity to them. The HDTV thread could go on for years to come while many other popular threads will die within a few months. That's probably why it was chosen to be a sticky a long time ago.

And I answered his question, and nothing has come since. I don't see any issues using the sticky.

Well the HD thread is helpful to people who are looking to buy a very pricey item. It just makes more sense to keep all of the HD info in one thread. Searching through it may be a pain in the ***, but its alot easier then searching through the entire EE forums for HD topics....no???
