I can't access this site from home?
I'm posting this at work but when I'm home I can't seem to ever get to this site it always says web page not found and brings me to the screen to do a web search. I have pop-up stopper on my pc, does that have anything to do with it?Tags: None -

Re: I can\'t access this site from home?
I have the same problem at home as well....I use dsl split up by a server, and sometimes I cannot access the forums...I pinged it when that happened, and it said forums.operationsports.com not found. When I can load the site, it pings fine, and finds the value. I wasn't able to find a way to use the IP address to load the forums site, could someone help me out and post one if you know of one? I log on at work as well, so I'll be able to see...Comment

Re: I can\'t access this site from home?
well when the site was switched over a few days ago I had the same problem.. Comcast's DNS takes a while to propogate(sp).... so here is what I did.. I telneted to work and pinged forums.operationsports.com and got the ip... you can NOT use the IP to reach the forums since the ISP is using named based virtual hosts.... but you can do this.
Go edit your host file and add a line that looks like the one below.
208.234.228.174 forums.operationsports.com
your host file will be in c:\windows if you are using 98,me, 95
2000, XP it will be in C:\WINNT\system32\drivers\etc
linux /etc... for MAC.. well I have no idea
If you don't see the host file in there then just add it... save it.. and try to goto the forums.. it should work fine then.

thanks a lot bdunn...I was the anonymous, I forgot that you didn't have to be logged in to post in Steve's forum. That should fix the weird dns problems I've been having with the forumsNintendo Switch Friend Code: SW-7009-7102-8818Comment
