    suggestion.

why would you make trophies for a member who reaches 500 or 1000. that seems to be great so that more and more would encourage to post more just like in maddenmania. just a suggestion.

    Re: suggestion.

I know you're not alone, but personally, I'd hate that.

Hell, I'd be happy if post counts were hidden. Post when you have something to contribute, and no other times. People already post drivel as they approach 500, or whatever - just making posts to increase their count. (Of course, others post drivel as a matter of course.)

The prize is the communication itself, not some stupid trophy.

Well those trophys are cute and all but we kinda like the non cluttered look on the forum. I just don't see that we need to entice people to post. They either do or they don't.

A wise man once said that you are not your post count..

And then Baseballguru stole the term and started using it here

Also we have something similar except it is in the title. Changes once you reach a certain amount of posts.

That is 100% original Guru wisdom there bub... no stealing was involved. Well, ok, maybe I did borrow a bit of the concept from Fight Club... well, maybe all of it, but still... I added the words "post count". That was all me. Booyah!
