60 second between searches

I hate this. Any way to get it changed? Sucks when you search for a thread and come up with no results, then have to sit there for a whole minute before you can try again.

It does suck, but searches put a lot of stress on the server. If we didn't have that 60 second delay, the Forums would be at a crawl most of the time, as it is a utility that is used quite frequently. I'm sure most of us would rather see a 60 second delay w/ no affect on the Forums, than no delays and Forum slowness.

Well... wouldn't a 45-second delay between searches only increase the stress marginally, or am I assuming a lot less activity on the site?

Does 15 seconds of waiting really make that much of difference?

If there was no limit you could search every second but your search could/would take longer because the server would be getting rapped with constant requests.

I can't really say how much of a performance hit changing the time would be. However, I do know that these forums use an incredible amount of bandwidth and processor power to run.

There won't be any changes to the time limit at this point, but it's something we might look at in the future.
