    File upload problems

Guys....I keep trying to upload a zip file(3.5MB in size) and always get an upload of file error.

I've tried it multiple times...with different files.
I've uploaded files before and it worked fine.
Am I missing something? Do I need to change a setting in my USER section or something to allow uploads?..

    Thanks.

That's a pretty big file to upload, there might be a size restriction.

There is....8 MB according to the chart that pops up when you go to upload.

        You have broadband or dialup?

It could be that the server times out on the file upload request.

Broadband. I tried it in TWO different locations...two computers.....one DSL and the other Cable.

            Probably a server timeout.

Maybe. I wonder how much time you have to upload. But my DSL speed is pretty good and my cable is even better. It's odd....and frustrating...especially since I have uploaded before.

                Re: File upload problems

                No ideas O.S. overlords?!.....

I had someone else download the file from sendspace and then try and upload it here.....he also got the file upload error.

What is the size limit for .zip files?
Are the newest type of .zip(WinZip) supported?
                Is WinRar supported?
What is the time limit for an upload before a server timeout?

Maybe it's one of these things?...

                Thanks.

I can't see anything in the settings that would prevent it.

                    Thanks....
                    It's buggin' me.
I've tried it from my desktop....from a folder on my C: drive....and directly from the flash drive.
I guess I should make sure I'm doing it correctly.

I go to a reply box....click on the attachment button(the paperclip) and when the box comes up I select "upload from computer" and point the browser to the .zip file. I then click upload and that should be it...right?

                    Thanks again....

                      Yes that is correct.

I also don't see anything that would prevent you from uploading that file. If you want to email it to me, I can try messing around with it today/tonight. PM me if you want to try.

                          Re: File upload problems

I wasn't able to upload that file either. Nor was I able to upload any other zip file that I tried that was over 3mb. I even tried increasing the allowed size limit to 10mb, but that didn't help.

                          I'll look into it more.

camulos/mjb, I've been using AdminCP for the past couple of years. I've seen this be a problem before, not sure if it's the case here. Are the attachments being held in the database, or the attachment folder?
