    Paypal

If you sell something on ebay, and the person pays for it via paypal, how do you know what credit card or bank account the payment was sent to?

It goes into your paypal account, and then you can withdraw from your paypal to your bank account whenever you want

      Re: Paypal

Well it will be sent to Paypal and it will sit there until you do something with it. You should have set it up with a bank account on file, and if you havent then add one, adn then you can transfer it to your bank account. If you get the Paypal Debit Card then you can leave it in there and use that to pay for things and it will take the money from your Paypal account so you dont have to wait the 3-4 business days for transfers to clear and post to your checking account.

So basically I need to withdraw the money from my paypal account to my bank account in order to have it there, rather than keeping it in my paypal account using that money for buying other things.

You can use it to buy other things online that accept Paypal as a form of payment. If you want to go to your local grocery store and use it then obviously you either need that Paypal Debit Card, which is completely free, or you need to transfer the funds to your bank account.
