Are you serious? By hosting videogame discussion, OS is causing people grief? It's causing you anguish that the forums went back to the way they were six weeks ago?

You mention that a majority of people have been hurt by this action. OS has 6617 Registered Users of which about 10 have expressed that they don't like the forums being merged. Please define majority, because maybe my math is old.

Also, of interest is some of the initial reaction:
All new MVP & WSB 2K3 threads............

Okay, so are you guys trying to make this forum as difficult as possible to read? Is it really necessary for every new thread to be in another forum? You are taking perfectly good pro baseball videogame threads OUT of the pro baseball videogames forum and putting them elsewhere. If this is the logical place to look for these threads, why redirect everyone?

There is such a thing as too much moderation.

What the hell are you talking about? How hard is it to go from the hot games forum to the baseball forum? This was gonna happen anyways...so might as well rip the band-aid off in one motion. Get over it dude! It's a freakin' forum...they're bigger problems in the world.

Re: Hey, moderators

We've gone down this road long before nikeford or Jeter got here. I believe the reason we do it this way is to keep the forums uncluttered. The hot games forums were alway going to be temporary and this was stated from the beginning.

Hopefully with the new version of the UBB forum software we will be able to have subforums (this is the rumor) and this probalem will be solved.

Re: Hey, moderators

Ok, Nikeford's language is too strong (to anyone who has spent time in the ASB forum this is not a surprise) However, I think that those of us who have joined in the last month, after the Hot Games section was created have been thrown for a loop. I found this site because I was looking for info about the roster updates and I didn't even know that the seperate ASB forum (or any other seperate game forum for that matter) was new or different. I understand that this was not meant to stay and that OS will do what it can to make the forums efficient and useful. Personally I am just a little annoyed that there was no warning in the forums that were about to be merged (there was no warning in the ASB forum, can't speak for the others) A message tacked to the top with a warning that showed all day would have been nice. I know that you guys made it clear when you created Hot Games that it would not last, but alot of us are new and did not know about that. Maybe next time some additional warning would be kool. Good Luck starting the seperate games subfolders, it would be greatly appreciated I think.

Also, the same group of us who did not know this would happen also are not familiar with steve's forum. I only found this because a post in the baseball forum directed me here. I am sure that there are plenty of people who are upset about the merge and don't know where to voice their opinion.

I had a short PM chat with fossen, the message boards getting merged caught me entirely by surprise. I was not a member of the boards until after the hot games section was started and was entirely unaware of the amount of time they were expected to exist there. As I told fossen, I "jumped the gun" so to speak (this includes the thumbs down on the website which is no longer there).

As Jeter said, I usually make attempts to help, rather than shoving my head up my arse before I know what is going on. If I had known before the merging that it was going to happen I wouldn't have said anything.

All is well, head has since been successfully removed from previously mentioned orifice.

btw, I didn't think anyone actually visited my site, I thought it was just the same handful of people going there everyday (which it probably is anyway...)

Fossen passed that on to the staff as it was big of you to admit to the mistake of jumping the gun regarding the forum changes. I applaud you for your post.

Also if it helps, I did make a lobby sticky for each baseball game for those only wanting to discuss that game. In the future we hope to have the subforums implemented and this will not be an issue anymore.

Hopefully it will be done by the football releases...

All we ask is people remember that we do this on our own time and for free. It is Steve's forum and site and we set it up and run it they way he feels will work the best for everyone.

And as we all know, you can't please everyone.
