How do you increase your overall rating next to your name?

Take a look at your player card (up near the top of the page, next to where your OVR is in big red numbers). Everything listed there contributes to your OVR. So basically, by doing those things, you will eventually build up your overall rating.

Yep, here's ways to get a quick OVR Fast

1) Post atleast 12 times a day
2) Post 100 Pictures in your Arena
3) Post 100 Youtube videos in your Arena
4) Send out TONS of Friend Request
5) Go to main page and Vote on any blog you can still vote on, you can go back like hundreds of pages so this is easy

the rest just take time to build up

I joined April 20th and I am already post 70 OVR, My goals 90!

LOL, FS, you are really going to town on boosting up your OVR.

I'm starting to be a little more active, exploring some of the arena stuff and voting on some of the games I've played or am looking forward to playing. In addition, I've been posting more lately, so my OVR has crept up a little as of late. It's not really that big a deal to me, though.

To do all that FS, you must be rich, on vacation or simply don't work or something. That is really great to go from 3 to 72 in a month's time. That got to be a record ! LOL

I am on path to 90 OVR and should be achieved within 2 weeks

Exactly - that's why it's often annoying having these things - you've got people spamming friend requests, and making posts/comments/etc not because they want to make a post or because it's a good post - but because it boosts their post count and their special OVR rating.

It's just kind of stupid, to be completely honest.

No its not. It encourages participation across ALL of OS. Previously, when we focused just on post counts, people would dedicate their time just to the forums. Now, if you're a "forums only" guy you won't necessarily have the best OVR.

I agree, that deliberately doing things purely to just increase your OVR is not a good practice, but as a whole I believe the OVR is a better system than the standard post-counts or other ranking systems you see used across the internet.

In the future as we add more features to OS, there will be elements of skill that will also influence your OVR. Therefore, no matter how much you boost your stats, if you don't have the skills in a particular game or fantasy league, you won't have a high OVR.

I agree with you to an extent, but I feel like most people haven't abused the OVR feature.

In the future as we add more features to OS, there will be elements of skill that will also influence your OVR. Therefore, no matter how much you boost your stats, if you don't have the skills in a particular game or fantasy league, you won't have a high OVR.

This sounds like it could be cool... looking forward to hearing about these "new features!"

This is good to hear, I am top 5 best All Pro Football player so maybe that will get my ovr high sooner then expected!
