The Operation Sports App Updates

The Operation Sports app is now up to version 1.7 and we’ve been steadily tuning things based on user feedback. Early login and posting issues have been fixed, the search tool has been completely rebuilt and overall navigation is smoother across the board.
This thread will serve as the spot for ongoing feedback and update notes. The download links for iOS and Android are included and we ask that anyone reporting issues mention the device they’re using.

We’re also continuing work on the forum fixes. The top list of fixes are being addressed with some fixes already in place. The classic OS Theme many longtime members have been waiting for is getting close to making its return.

We appreciate everyone sticking with us as we keep improving both the app and the forums.

Wow, much improved! I'm posting from the app right now, and the first thing I notice is that the beginning of my sentences aren't auto-capitalizing in the text field. I'm on Android, by the way. Going to keep playing with this for a little while. Don't yet see a way to jump pages, if in fact that is a possibility. Thanks so much! It's a great start!

I've relayed it to them. Edit is also coming down the road as they are ironing out some bugs and getting other things done atm. But it's on the list.

Love that we have an app now. Hopefully we get text formatting toolbar soon that allows us to easily bold, underline, italics etc. Also hoping for ability to post photos again. I’m sure the team is aware of these features just wanted to provide my two cents! Love this!

In the app, how do you automatically go to the latest post in a thread? I don't see any settings to change in the app at all. I wind up opening a thread and rapid scrolling 10-15 times for some big threads

It can't be done yet. I'm sure that's on their to-do list.

Until then (among other things), it's not usable for me and I'll just stick with the browser.

This feedback was given to the team, I've brought it up myself as well. I do like the app much more than where it was when it initially launched. Also give them a break, Christmas and News Years break just passed!

I've hated all the new changes to Tapatalk. I never get notified if anyone quotes any post of mine, its a pain to post at times with the ads, so having an OS app again, once it does everything Tapatalk used to do, it'll be great.

What is the OS App missing compared to the Tapatalk app for you?

I definitely think it'd be better if every single post gets shown in a thread rather than just a comments section, that's what message boards are after all. "QUOTE reply" is definitely the way to go over the comment section. It's much better seeing someone posting and that quote box shows up in their post so you see what they're replying to.

This is good insight, I find quoting posts directly is usually what I am used to. Commenting beneath a post is certainly different. Have you found commenting used much at all on the forums?

People will comment because they're replying to a post, but whether anyone reads comments on posts is a different story. If I'm viewing a thread, I'm just looking at the most recent posts from the last time I read the thread and that's it, I'm not deep diving and checking to see if any of those new posts also have comments associated with them, or worse, older posts have new comments to them (because you're not even rereading an old post to begin with, and certainly aren't checking if an old post has new comments on it).
