Upon opening this PM I received some sort of message saying the recipient requested a receipt or something like that (I canceled rather than clicking okay.)

Did anyone else get this?

Edit: Didn't want to throw the username out there in case it is legitimate, but if an admin want's to know who it is, just let me know.

As for the confirmation thing you had, that was a PM function to notify the sender that you read his message
