First, it wasn't a gripe thread as he described it, it was a question thread. I didn't even know what it was that was popping up. I did post in the gripe thread after (look at timestamps please) someone explained what the overlay was (notice I found it annoying even before I knew it was an ad).
Second, we're not supposed to start flame wars between companies, something I strive to do even though I prefer 2K's games, yet he closes the thread with a bash on 2K Sports. This was utterly unnecessary from a moderator who is closing a thread. Violate the forums rules because they believe someone or a thread is violating them?
Third, his bash on 2K Sports isn't even on the same topic. There's a huge difference between an overlay advertisement that pops up during actual gameplay, and the advertisements that he's referring to that most games employ. They are two completely separate topics.
If the thread needs to be closed, then fine. But closing it that manner is completely uncalled for. It's disrespectful to the poster (myself), and to the readers. This site and Millennium usually practice better moderation. People already think OS is in EAs pockets, and when you see moderation of this nature it only adds fuel to the fire.
I sent Millennium a PM, but not sure if he reads them. I'm sure he gets spammed with a lot of PMs. Hopefully someone will read this and take a look at the request.
Was just about to post this and saw I had a PM, it's a response form Millennium, and all I can say is wow.
