"Rollover to start your chant" advertisement

First of all, I wanted to thank everyone at OS for continuing to provide such excellent information to all of us sports gamers through the years.

It is because of your continued excellence that brings me to the reason why I am posting this. Recently when trying to view screenshots for both MLB the Show and MLB 2k10, I have noticed what I think is a Sprite advertisement that appears over a large portion of the picture. The slogan, "Rollover to start your chant" is displayed.

Just thought I'd make you guys aware of this as in many of the screenshots, there were sections of the image that I could not see, even if I scrolled around the page, due to this ad.

Thanks again for the wonderful website! Cheers!

a lot of people use AdBlock to keep ads from showing up, but I think that hurts ad revenue for the site

I could be wrong but I don't think that is the case.

The advertising is done by a third party and generally I would assume it is based on the volume of visitors.

How would they know what percentage of those visitors enable adblock? Is that something that they can account for?

Grab me a screenshot and I'll ensure its removed from that area.

I believe ad revenue is based on the amount of people that click on the ad.

If adblock is used, the ad doesn't display, in turn affecting our ad revenue. Effectively the companies pay per impression, so the more ad impressions we display, the more ad revenue we generate.
