Forums Advanced Search Not Working?

I was trying to find a thread with the word 'best' in the title in the Madden Sliders Forum. I know there are a ton of threads that contain this yet it returned 0 as the results. Here's what I did before I hit the search button.

1. Enter 'best' in Keyword(s) textfield.
2. Select 'Search Titles Only'
3. Select 'Madden NFL Football Sliders'
4. Click Search button.
5. Received 0 results.

I tried changing to Search Entire Posts and it failed as well. I then changed the word to sliders and it worked, so search seems to be working, it just seems to fail for the word 'best'. Any idea why?

Maybe the word 'best' is considered too common for the search?

You'd think that it would return too many results or something of that nature, instead of 0 results. It returns pretty quickly. I figure they are using MySQL and I checked to see if best is a reserved word, and it's not in ver 5.0+, so I'm not quire sure what's going on.

You are over-thinking this...

It returns 0 results because when you search for it the search engine tells you the word wasn't included in search.

It gives you three possible reasons for this:

1. Too long (we know this isn't the case).
2. Too short (not correct either, if you search the word "ball" you will get results.
3. Too common...This is the only possible scenario.

Which is the reason Snepp gave you.

You're right. I just read the first part and totally missed the second part. Why is this word too common for thread title searches?

I'm guessing it's because there are a ton of "Best 'insert game here' sliders here!!!!111!!11!" threads.
